Business Development Manager

Role

The new role of Business Development Manager will be a key one within the organisation, to ensure that we are well-resourced to achieve our aims and appropriately positioned to make the most of new opportunities.

Key responsibilities will be:

Fundraising

  • Identify funding opportunities that are a good fit for our activities and plans
  • Write and submit funding applications and tenders, to support and develop our activities
  • Provide performance reports to funders as required
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to project and forecast income
  • Ensure that the funding data base is well maintained and regularly report on progress

Business Development

  • Identify and develop opportunities for growth and partnerships
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts, including corporate, to maximise opportunities
  • Ensure that our business practices are efficient, effective and fit for purpose
  • Lead on staff understanding and delivery of our business priorities and targets
  • Identify and negotiate supplier services and contracts that deliver best value

Marketing

  • Lead on staff understanding and delivery of our brand values and their communication of key messages
  • Collect performance data, photos, stories and case studies from our activities
  • Research and write reports that demonstrate our social impact
  • Promote our brand values and visibility to relevant client groups
  • Ensure successful use of various social media platforms to maintain our profile

General

  • Be an ambassador for the organisation and its services
  • Set a positive example, as a role model for our values, principles and behaviours
  • Share leadership responsibility, as a key member of our senior management team
  • Support and deputise for, colleagues as needed
  • Take ownership, responsibility and accountability for own and team, performance
