The successful candidate will join our team in Golspie and will be responsible for our new National Lottery Community Fund project, Building Blocks, which will deliver an income maximisation service across the county in schools, learning centres and GP practices.

The service will focus on ensuring clients are receiving all the income to which they are entitled and seek to enhance clients’ knowledge of all grants, funding, and opportunities available to them.

Home-Start Clackmannanshire is a long standing, dynamic charity, striving to ensure every young child (under 12) has the best possible start in life locally. Raising a family has never been easy; our trained volunteers and staff are there to support families through challenging times. In Scotland, Home-Starts have over 1,500 volunteers supporting over 3,500 families and 6,500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents/carers when they need us most. The parents/carers we support are often overwhelmed and isolated. They may be struggling with mental health, illness, disability, multiple births, poverty, domestic abuse, separation and/or trauma. We provide a bespoke support package of 1:1 and group services for families, helping them to cope with the stresses and strains of daily life and encourage them to build the skills, confidence, and strength they need to nurture their children for years to come.

We are looking to welcome a new Family Support Group Worker to our team due to an exciting new partnership with Action for Children, to build a pre-5’s service locally for families. This is a fixed term contract, with potential for extension, funding dependent.

Purpose of the job

Home-Start Clackmannanshire and Action for Children are working in partnership, with the support of our local Child Wellbeing Partnership, to develop a communities based, group support system, providing a nurturing and educational environment for children and their parents/carers. This new service aims to enhance positive well-being, parent-child attachment, and support early childhood development, providing the foundations for children to flourish.

We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who is knowledgeable in child development and has experience working with children and their families in both group settings and on a one-to-one basis.

This role will work closely with our current Family Support Group Workers, supporting our aspiration to work in partnership locally to offer supportive and enriching environments for young families.

As a Family Support Group Worker, you will work closely with our team, and our partners Action for Children, to support the development of children and parents by creating fun and interesting environments/activities to enhance skills, promote emotional resilience, encourage positive behaviours and routines.

We are seeking a talented Mental Health professional to fill a permanent role part time role as a Mental Health Co-ordinator. This role reports to the CEO and works as part of a team delivering exceptional standards of critical services across multiple programs to the local community in Wester Hailes.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Development & Performance:

• Initiate and progress regular trainee intakes to ensure the provision of services across all therapies from counselling to complimentary and more. This includes selecting for interview, interviewing and induction activity.
• Support with broader THA role recruitment activity and induction of new employees.
• Assist in the management of any flexible support team resource, in relation to work tasks, attendance, identification of training needs and day to day supervision.

Operational Co-ordination & Administration:

• Collaborate with CEO for THA and undertake activities as agreed with them to ensure THA services are delivered to an exceptional and compliant operational standard.
• Support each Service Manager to schedule and co-ordinate THA employees, sessional workers and volunteer capacity across all agency provided services.
• Perform all necessary operational tasks of a placement provider, including completing and ensuring all placement paperwork and record keeping is fully compliant and of a high standard.
• Develop and progress projects as required. In addition, assist in the monitoring, tracking and administrative tasks associated with projects underway within THA service teams.
• Responsible for gathering all counselling related paperwork/records, information is completed accurately, entered the appropriate THA system, and maintained on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure that relevant data and reporting requirements relating to services such as counselling, CORE scores and evaluation are collated and shared with the CEO and the Board.

Safeguarding

• Provide safeguarding rota cover as part of a small safeguarding team and in line with the THA Safeguarding policy to those providing individual counselling, group counselling or other relevant services.
• Provide operational support to a team of mental health practitioners providing therapeutic, emotional, and practical support.

Relationship Management and Service Partner Integration

• Work collaboratively with statutory services such as NHS specialist mental health services and GP’s, to ensure that joined-up, integrated support experience is offered to all THA service users
• Build co-operative and beneficial relationships, develop networks and promotes partnership working with local community members, groups and wider with session providers, agencies, funders, and local authorities.
• Develop relationships with academic institutions and promote The Health Agency as a placement provider to trainees looking to carry out clinical hours as part of their counselling courses.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Diploma in Counselling such as; person centred counselling, CBT or an equivalent qualification is essential. Ideally the qualification would be accredited by BACP or BABCP or COSCA,

• Experience of a person-centred approach to mental health support
• Experience of taking a lead role in the planning and delivery of mental health support and recovery
• Understanding of health & safety requirements and safeguarding needs for a counselling service and those delivering counselling services
• A solid working understanding of the challenges faced by people living in areas of multiple deprivation
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence e a wide range of stakeholders.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and email.

The Community Links Worker programme, funded by EVOC & Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership, is delivered in partnership with GP Practices and the 3rd sector to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care.

The Community Link Worker (Maternity Cover) will be employed by Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust and will work as part of three practice teams (Gracemount, Liberton and Inch Park) in the South East locality of Edinburgh to provide 1:1 person-centred and practical support to people in contact with the GP practice team.

Taking a person-centred approach, you will work with individuals to enable them to identify personal outcomes and priorities for their health and well-being and link them to local, city and national activities and support services.

The postholder must have experience of working with people who are facing complex social and emotional circumstances, a strong understanding of the challenges affecting people living in areas of disadvantage in relation to living well, extensive effective interpersonal skills in working with people on a 1:1 basis as well as experience in networking and relationship building with other professionals and organisations.
