Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (ENSA) exists to enable our 20,000 student members across Edinburgh and around the globe to make the most of their university experience. We do this by representing, supporting and developing Edinburgh Napier University students to be successful in their studies; to try out new things; to engage in, and contribute to, university life; to be healthy and happy; to bring about positive change; and to have fun.

About the role

As our Chair has now come to the end of her term in office, we are looking to recruit a new Chair with the skills and experience to lead the Board of Directors, promoting good governance and providing effective and empowering line management to support our CEO. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has the strategic focus, governance understanding, leadership experience and time to support and develop a committed Board and ensure ENSA delivers the best experience for students.

About ENSA’s Board of Directors

The Board is collectively in charge of ENSA, for upholding its values and aligning it to the Association’s charitable aims. It has overall responsibility for ENSA’s governance: budget-setting and financial reporting, health and safety, human resources and legal compliance.

The Board is made up of 12 Directors: six External Lay Directors (including the Chair) appointed through a competitive process for their professional expertise; three Student Lay Directors who are registered students of Edinburgh Napier University and appointed through a competitive process; and three Sabbatical Officers who are elected by the student body.

In line with charity law, all ENSA’s Directors (elected and appointed) have equal status. Directors have a variety of experience and skills which offer different perspectives, and are all, jointly and severally, liable for the governance of the charity. Directors are expected to take their responsibilities seriously, attend meetings, and manage any conflicts of interests appropriately.

You may have thought that leprosy is an ancient Biblical disease, but today someone is diagnosed with leprosy every two minutes. It is a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Stigma and discrimination mean many people with leprosy hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in terrible fear of what will happen to them. But without fast treatment, leprosy can cause blindness and disable hands and feet.

Rejection, isolation, hopelessness. We believe that this is not how God wants people to live. Will you join us to help end leprosy?

The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with over 150 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. We are a leading international development charity, working in nine countries across Africa and Asia. We are Christ-centered, following His leading to defeat leprosy and transform lives.

We are looking for an inspirational leader to develop and deliver fundraising plans in Scotland, and to provide excellent care for faithful Scottish supporters. You’ll be working from home, with extensive travel across Scotland.

You’ll be part of a supportive fundraising management team based in Peterborough. We have a culture of growing and learning together, providing extensive training in fundraising and international development. You’ll also have opportunities to visit projects overseas and see your work first hand.

We’re looking for:

• A relational public speaker, experienced in engaging audiences including churches, community groups and businesses

• Proven success in fundraising

• A confident networker

• Experience of managing volunteers

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Willingness to work on Sundays and evenings as required, and occasional Saturdays

• The ability to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy.

TLM is an explicitly Christian charity, serving people of all faiths and none. There is a genuine occupational requirement for the Scotland Country Head to be a committed Christian as you will be preaching and speaking in supporting churches.

A valid UK driving license is an essential requirement for the role. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a work health questionnaire.

As a few of our Trustees, including our Chair, are reaching the end of their extended terms, Cumbernauld Action for Care of the Elderly (CACE) is seeking passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of Trustees. We are also looking to fill the position of Chair to help lead our mission of promoting and supporting the needs of older adults in Cumbernauld and the surrounding Northern Corridor.

As a charity dedicated to improving the well-being and quality of life for the elderly in our community, we play a crucial role in combating isolation and loneliness. As a Trustee, including the role of Chair, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage your skills and expertise to support the well-being and independence of older adults. You'll collaborate closely with fellow Trustees, staff, volunteers, and the wider community, building strong relationships while gaining valuable experience in governance, financial management, and strategic planning. By engaging with stakeholders and partners, you’ll broaden your network, help promote our services within the community, and develop transferable skills—such as leadership, decision-making, and project management—that can enhance your career prospects.

Key Responsibilities of a Trustee, including the Chair:

• Collaborate with fellow Trustees to provide strategic leadership and governance for CACE.
• Lead and facilitate the Board (for the Chair) to ensure it fulfils its governance responsibilities.
• Ensure our charity operates in alignment with its mission, values, and legal obligations.
• Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and funding applications to maximize our impact.
• Support the management team in delivering high-quality care and services to older adults.
• Participate in fundraising and community engagement activities to advance and promote our cause.
• We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and skill sets. Induction and training opportunities will be provided for Trustees.

Inverclyde Women’s Aid’s vision is where women, children and young people are free from the threat of abuse, violence or oppression.

Inverclyde Women’s Aid is a charitable organisation dedicated to working towards ending domestic and sexual abuse. We offer a confidential service across Inverclyde to support women, children and young people who are or have experienced domestic and /or sexual abuse.

Role:

Are you passionate about helping women, children and young people in Inverclyde? Inverclyde Women’s Aid [IWA] are looking for Trustees to join its Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our feminist governance team supporting and overseeing the development of the organisation to ensure the continued delivery of high quality, responsive services to vulnerable women, children and young people in our area. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic and or sexual abuse, but you will need to prove that you are interested in our work, be reliable, action focussed and committed to our principles and values.

We are keen to here from women, and in particular those who may have experience or skills in the areas of Fundraising, HR, IT, legal, women services or care and charity governance.
