Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time worker in Carr Gomm’s team of Specialist Link Workers. Primarily based in the Rivers Centre in Edinburgh city centre but expected to travel throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues to ensure that people, usually with a diagnosis of complex PTSD and / or a history of childhood abuse are supported in a person-centered way and in line with Carr Gomm’s values to identify their aims and put them into effect.
Whilst reporting to the Project Manager the Specialist Link Worker will support individuals to achieve practical tasks and arrangements as well as their ambitions.

The role:
This is an exacting role in an unusual environment, working with individuals who experience complex and various needs. You will therefore have the skills and leadership abilities to meet the demands of this post, and team. As well as experience of working in communities and of partnership working, and of supporting and engaging with people in difficult circumstances

Job Summary
Simon Community Scotland is working collaboratively with the University of Edinburgh to recruit 400 people from sites across Scotland to the Phoenix for severe and multiple disadvantage study. You will be working in various sites across Edinburgh to support the research team and the people we support that are participating in the study.
We are looking for someone with a non-judgemental approach that will be embedded in one of our new exciting projects: Beggars and Choices or Creating Safer Communities. These projects engage with people who are homeless, roofless or street begging across the city. The work will take place wherever people are at; on the streets, in services or community settings as required.
Job Purpose
- Support people rough sleeping, begging and or engaged in harmful street lifestyles to access the services and support they need
- Offer assertive outreach to people facing homelessness and rooflessness
- Offer trauma informed care offering a holistic healthcare model
- Bring services to people that are unable to engage in building based services
- Identify eligible participants to the study and liaise with the research team regarding this
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with participants supporting the research team
- Reduce barriers for people that are facing multiple marginalisation through offering a person centred, trauma informed relational model of care
Support Worker – Housing Support Fife

Housing Support Fife is a service providing housing support in the Levenmouth, Glenrothes and North East Fife area. Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a support worker to be part of this team. The successful post holder will work as part of a team delivering flexible and creative support to vulnerable people to meet their housing needs and help them maintain their tenancies.
You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. We would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Practitioner’ is desirable; the willingness to work towards this is essential.
As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment.

As part of our Hub team in Edinburgh you'll be working with people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness in an awesome environment alongside our partner agencies.
We work to support people in securing accommodation and to live well.
This support can include housing advice, applying for benefits, accessing health care - or veterinary care for their pets! - whilst being compassionate, sharing a laugh and sometimes a cuppa too!

- support the development of life skills and homemaking in preparation for a tenancy,
- provide emotional support,
- help to reduce harm caused by homelessness and trauma.
There is a rolling rota including night shifts and / or sleepovers.
Job Purpose
As a support worker it will be your job to work with a team to:
- Help people in our community to manage and recover their mental health
- Support people who use drugs and alcohol to do so as safely as possible
- Support people who choose to reduce or stop their drug and alcohol use to do so safely
- Help people in our community to build a positive network of connections that will help them to gain and sustain their own housing
- Provide emotional and practical support to our community
- Any other duties directed by your service lead
