Role

Do you want to work at the heart of an organisation which makes a real difference to people’s lives?

If you’d love a varied job where you’ll be supported to learn, innovate and work with people of all backgrounds then this could be the job for you!

About the role

Our People Team drive change, make connections and improve processes which support our people to do jobs safely and effectively, and thrive in their working lives.

We’re looking for a proactive, efficient individual to contribute across our People services, with particular focus on:

Volunteering: Our volunteers are invaluable, so you’ll lead on driving a positive volunteer experience by supporting our services to recruit, onboard and thank our volunteers.

Engagement: With more than 200 staff and 300 volunteers spread across 63 services at 14 sites, we have to think creatively to ensure our people are engaged with our central initiatives! You’ll be responsible for creating engaging events, staff surveys and content to ensure our staff feel part of Cyrenians, wherever they’re based.

About you

You’ll bring creative communication skills and experience in engaging effectively with a broad range of colleagues and volunteers. You will enjoy creating accessible, informative content and providing advice and practical support which enables others to thrive in their own roles. Your efficient organisational skills will also be key in managing your varied, busy workload.

Your most important attributes will be your proactive, flexible nature, alongside your ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with everyone you come into contact with.

How we’ll support you

You’ll be part of an experienced, knowledgeable team, with a supportive manager, who will help you develop and grow in your role. While volunteering and engagement will be your key responsibilities, we’ll empower you to learn about other aspects of the team and wider organisation. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning programme, and staff wellbeing services. This includes our varied cross-organisational initiatives and groups such as Inclusion & Diversity, Trauma-informed Practice, and Sustainability.

About Cyrenians

At Cyrenians we tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness. We understand that there are many routes into homelessness, and that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to supporting people towards more positive and stable futures. That’s why all our work is values-led and relationships-based. Read more about our values here.
