The Media and Digital Communications Manager will deliver communications, public relations, content strategy and digital communications to increase the profile and reach of the organisation.

The successful candidate for this role should have:

• Degree level qualification in journalism, public relations, communications or related field or at least 5 years proven experience in communications/public affairs
• Compelling copywriter, with attention to detail and confident in writing high quality content in a variety of styles for different audiences
• Good proof reading and copy editing skills
• Ability to interpret news, policy and business reports and translate to compelling content
• Ability to draft documents to reflect the requirements of members, staff and others
• Ability to manage multimedia channels
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals and stakeholders
• Understanding of health and social care and media landscape
• High quality time management and work scheduling to manage a variety of jobs with different deadlines
• A commitment to the ethos of membership organisations
• Proficiency in video production and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro), podcast editing tools (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand)
• Good understanding of data protection legislation
• IT literate – office 365

The Community Fridge project was established in early 2020 to help to address food insecurity whilst addressing the issue of food waste through businesses donating food destined for landfill on a relatively small-scale basis, We then secured a new dedicated facility which has more than tripled our initial fridge & freezer equipment and shelving. Our fridge and larder continues to be a lifeline to so many as evidenced by the continuing increase in registrations and footfall. We currently have 990 members of our community fridge with on average 150 – 200 visits per week.

Brunch Club - delivered from our Community Fridge/Larder we offer a meal delivery service to those who may have limited capability to cook healthy nutritious meals for themselves.

The Community Fridge Food waste is a big issue. The average household throws away £470 worth of food every year while others live in food poverty. Most food waste is avoidable and could have been eaten had it been better managed.

The Community Fridge provides access for everyone to nutritious, surplus food at low costs. It helps people save money and reduce waste.

Job Role

This role will co-ordinate the operation of the Community Fridge to successfully cut food waste, build stronger bonds within the community and provide people with access to nutritious food.

We are seeking a Sensory Support Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Vision PK, a growing charity who have recently opened our new sensory hub in the heart of Perth.

We provide specialist services for people with sight loss, hearing loss, or who are deaf, living within the Perth and Kinross local authority area. Our specialist rehabilitation service is commissioned by Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership, allowing us to offer essential support to individuals facing sensory challenges.

The Role:

We are seeking a Sensory Support Coordinator to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of supporting individuals with sensory loss, providing direct assistance, coordinating services, and advocating for their needs. You will work closely with clients, their families, and other service providers to ensure holistic support and access to vital resources.

About You:

• Experience of working with people with disabilities, sensory loss, older people, or in community support roles.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• A positive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• An empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with clients of all backgrounds.
• Understanding of holistic care and how to deliver support in a way that meets the broad needs of the people we support.
