Role

We are seeking up to 4 new members for the Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust (ELGT) Board. Our Non-Executive Directors perform a vital role, overseeing the management of the Charity and acting as ambassadors for our work.

For over 30 years ELGT has been delivering inspiring, groundbreaking, and imaginative programmes of environmental and community projects that benefit local people, wildlife, landscape, and heritage. Our Board is vital in supporting ELGT to realise its vision of providing quality greenspaces to people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to improve their health and wellbeing. We are seeking skilled, committed and engaged people who want to act as a catalyst for change and support ELGT through being part of our Board.

What we are looking for

  • Ability to contribute to Board insight and scrutiny, helping to deliver ELGT’s vision and strategy
  • Good knowledge of the issues facing local communities and confidence you can make a valuable contribution to our work.
  • The ability to contribute professional and expert knowledge in the following areas: health benefits of greenspace and green active travel, biodiversity and climate change policy, fundraising and income generation and urban renewal.

About Us:

The Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust has been working since 1991 to improve the quality of life for communities in the Lothians and we have successfully delivered over £20M of practical environmental projects.

Our inspiring, far-reaching and imaginative programme of environmental improvement and community involvement projects are designed to benefit people and nature, landscape and heritage and to re-connect people with their natural environment.

We combine professional expertise in project development, management and fundraising, with community development, consultation and engagement skills, enabling us to take a practical approach to the delivery of all projects, large or small and from start to finish.
