The Business & Finance Manager will ensure effective and efficient management of Finance and business support functions, in the areas of Governance, Finance, HR, IT, Data, Office management and administration, ensuring that these are delivered to fixed deadlines.

The Business & Finance Manager will line manage a Finance Officer and an HR & Office Management Officer to ensure effective delivery of support services to the Employee team and the Board of Directors.

The Business & Finance Manager is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Excellent Excel and IT skills are vital, as are strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. The Business & Finance Manager will have experience in a similar or related role, with extensive experience of all aspects of financial management.

This is a new role to support the Business & Finance Manager.

You will develop and maintain day to day financial and accounting processes.

Key responsibilities include processing monthly payroll process as well as day to day bookkeeping & invoicing, producing monthly reconciliations and quarterly financial reports & forecasts for the Business & Finance Manager. Collating documentation annually for auditors, and supporting the Manager funding budgets and the annual organisational budget.

We are currently seeking an Admin and Casework Assistant to support our Scotland Team, based in our Glasgow office. You will provide a consistently high level of support to the Scotland Office and Field team and professional front line support to FSB members, external stakeholders and the wider small business community.

What will you do?

The role is varied across four main workstreams: Frontline external support, internal support, events and membership.

The successful candidate will (but not limited to):

• Be the first point of contact / face of FSB to members and external stakeholders contacting the Scotland Team.

• Own, manage and resolve member queries, stakeholder enquiries and casework, including drafting responses; signposting to relevant member services; reporting to

the wider team on caseload, casework progress and current issues.

• Be responsible for the management of the Scotland Office, including meeting room and diary management.

• Facilitate, deliver and promote FSB online and face-to-face events, local and national, including third party expos and networking events in the FSB Scotland, Glasgow Office.

• Working with colleagues, develop and expand the member-facing event programme in the FSB Scotland, Glasgow Office.

• Oversee the administration of events, including planning with venues/speakers etc including post-event analysis and attendance monitoring.

• Working with the Comms and External Affairs Manager, generate sales leads for the sales team through 1-2-1 engagement across all communications channels including social media.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience of managing and delivering administration support and working in a customer supporting role.

• Good telephone manner with the ability to carry out customer service calls to a high standard.

• Confident in working in a role without close supervision and able in using own initiative as appropriate.

• Good all-round knowledge of managing and delivering administration support.

• Good knowledge of IT applications including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, databases and social media platforms.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and the ability to enable the smooth coordination of activities.

Essential Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English Language

The Role

The Intandem Co-ordinator will be responsible for the delivery of our intandem family mentoring service, making a positive difference to care experienced children and young people, who are in kinship care.

The post holder will recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to mentor children and young people in Kinship Care. By providing mentors this will give this vulnerable group of children and young people the best start in life. The role will include line managing sessional Intandem family mentors who will work with the family to develop goals-focused Whole Family Approach mentoring plans – covering emotional/practical support; coaching/advice around family relationships/child development/parenting skills; harm reduction.

As well as managing sessional staff and volunteers, the role involves engaging with young people and their parent/carers to build relationships and likewise engage with other professionals for joint agency referrals, support, and evaluation. The post holder will contribute to the national intandem programme to record and monitor outcomes and to deliver best practice, as well as work towards developing the evidence base for mentoring young people in Scotland.
