Role

Celtic FC Foundation are currently seeking a Senior Finance Assistant. This job role will be part of an effective administration/finance team to support the business operations of the Foundation and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure seamless financial management and provide timely and accurate information as and when required.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Posting financial transactions to accounts software (Business Central)
  • Processing purchase ledger {GBP/EUR/USD)
  • Maintain supplier records
  • Processing income for overseas events, including payments, invoicing and issuing receipts
  • Reconciliation, review and maintenance of the General Ledger
  • Assisting Office and Finance Manager and wider team with month end reviews, including accrual journal preparation
  • Credit control
  • Gift-aid: Responsible for monthly processing
  • Support with maximising event fundraising
  • Post event reconciliations
  • Maintaining records for all in-kind donations
  • Supporting with the administration of the annual financial audits
  • Providing support at events as required (will require evening/weekend working
  • Supporting and providing cover as necessary for the Office and Finance Assistant
  • Providing cover for processing of monthly timesheets
  • Assisting with cash handling and banking
  • Ensuring all financial records are maintained including scanning, filing and logging account documents
  • Working closely with the Office and Finance Manager and wider team to ensure that effective financial information and reporting is available

Skills and Experience required:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance administrator role
  • Proficiency in data inputting
  • Experience using a finance system
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Analytical thinker with a pro-active approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible approach and ability to prioritise work

Desirable

  • Full UK driving license
  • HNC / HND in accountancy
  • Other recognised accountancy qualification (i.e. degree, part qualified CIMA/ACCA)
  • Experience using a CRM system for reporting (i.e. ThankQ, Salesforce)
  • Understanding of GiftAid
