Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to join us at Socialtrack to fill the role of Youth Employment: Mountain Biking BMX Leader, specialising in working with young people facing deprivation, poverty, and challenging behaviour. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine outdoor sports leadership with youth development in underserved communities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mountain biking and BMX, along with experience in supporting young people facing socio-economic barriers and behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored mountain biking and BMX programs for youth experiencing deprivation, poverty, and challenging behaviour.
- Provide effective leadership and guidance during biking sessions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Foster positive relationships with youth participants, building trust and rapport to support their personal and skill development.
- Design and deliver workshops and activities using SVQ and British Cycling qualifications, aimed at addressing the specific needs and interests of the target demographic, including life skills development, confidence-building exercises, and career exploration.
- Collaborate with local community organisations, schools, and social services to identify and reach out to youth in need of support, ensuring program accessibility and inclusivity.
- Support the recruitment and training of youth participants between 16 and 21 to Skill School, providing mentorship and assistance in overcoming barriers to success.
- Manage program logistics, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and transportation arrangements, to ensure smooth operation of activities and events.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and conflict resolution techniques to address challenging behaviour and promote a positive group dynamic.
- Monitor participant progress and evaluate program effectiveness, collecting feedback and data to inform program improvements and adjustments.
- Advocate for the needs and interests of youth facing deprivation and poverty, working to address systemic barriers and promote social equity and justice.
- Report to the Management team and directors on progress of program on a regular basis.
- Under go a PVG check and become a member, if not already, of Disclosure Scotland.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in mountain biking and/or BMX riding, with advanced skills and proficiency in both disciplines.
- Proven track record of working with youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those facing poverty, deprivation, and behavioural challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse youth populations.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and experience in working with individuals impacted by trauma and adversity.
- Ability to adapt program activities and approaches to meet the unique needs and interests of participants.
- Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of program delivery and organizational practices.
- Outdoor First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for program-related travel.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by program activities and events.
- Passion for youth development and social justice, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people facing adversity.

We believe that it has the potential to make an even greater contribution to this community and as part of fulfilling this vision we seek a suitably qualified and experienced Project Leader
The Project Leader will work with the Board and in collaboration with the local community in further developing the GCDP (The Venny) as a key resource for children, young people and adults living in Craigneuk.

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is a UK-wide charity that exists to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation. We’re bold, we’re pioneering, we’re growing and we want your help.
Our Edinburgh based team – formerly known as Stop It Now Scotland – covers the whole of the country. Our practitioners have extensive backgrounds in child protection and sex offender rehabilitation. We provide individual and groupwork to around 150 adults and adolescents every year who present a sexual risk of harm to children who cannot access statutory service. We work with around 100 partners, family members and members of wider networks around these individuals. We use what we learn from our work to develop and deliver resources, information and training for professionals and the public, so that they can better protect children from harm and prevent abuse before it happens.
About you and the role
We are recruiting a Fundraising & Partnerships Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team in Edinburgh to lead the delivery of our business development and fundraising strategies, supporting our ambition to increase the volume of specialist support, training and spot purchased assessments we provide for social work, charities and child facing agencies. Working with the director, you will help develop and sustain appropriate strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for development, reviewing resource implications, risk, income potential and likelihood of success.
You will also work closely with our Fundraising Manager, based in our Epsom office, leading on charitable income generation through writing bids that directly apply for funds from a range of bodies. Developing effective and impactful methods to report on the impact of our services and relationship management with funders is a key part of this role.
This exciting role will play a big part in supporting our efforts to shift the discourse about child sexual abuse ‘upstream’ so that professionals and the public understand in practical terms what they can do to prevent sexual abuse before it happens. We believe our work can only build and grow and lead to the better protection of children from harm through developing our partnerships across a range of sectors (education, social work, leisure services, law enforcement, Scottish government, third sector, safeguarding leads in faith and belief communities, business and corporate sectors, etc), The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator who is committed to the concept of child sexual abuse as a preventable public health issue.
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional who is proactive and outcome focused with exceptional communication and relationship skills. We are looking for someone who can develop knowledge of national and local policy and strategy within the external environment to inform business development, influence potential commissioners and where appropriate, co-design services with agencies. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team of geographically dispersed Operations Officers to support the operational delivery and development of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) across Scotland.
