The SSF Education and Training Administrator is responsible for providing a range of administrative support for various educational,training and workforce development programmes developed and delivered by SSF. This is a critical role to ensure that our training programmes run smoothly and that formal accreditations are processed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Main duties:

• Lead on all administrative tasks associated with delivering training and educational modules. This will include:

• Accurate and timely data entry and processing

• Liaising with course organisers to coordinate the delivery of training

• Booking tutors to deliver courses, and ensuring they have all resources required for delivery

• Preparing SCQF materials for verification=

• Maintaining filing and other office systems

• Booking venues where required

The post involves blended working between home, meetings in the designated workplaces and occasional requirement for attendance at Paths for All offices in Stirling, for which expenses would be paid.

There is the opportunity for the post holder to either live on Shetland or to be based remotely with regular travel to the workplaces on the islands.

This exciting and impactful role is part of a brand new project which aims to get more people walking and travelling actively in Shetland. It will involve working in partnership with agreed workplaces including NHS Shetland and Shetland Islands Council. The development officer will spend much of their time working with these workplaces to promote and encourage walking. This will include the development and roll out a high-quality programme of surveys, travel planning and walking interventions (such as the Step Count Challenge vimeo.com/402957376 ).

The first task, supported by the Workplaces Senior Development Officer will be delivering a workplace assessment in each workplace before developing a programme of incentives, promotions and encouragement based on the barriers identified within the initial assessment. It will also be important to identify and recruit volunteer workplace champions as the programme progresses. The initial focus and the key skills required will be around building relationships, recruiting volunteers and carrying out the assessments before delivering targeted interventions.
