Role

Paths for All is a Scottish Charity. We have a clear focus. We want to get Scotland walking: Everyone. Everyday. Everywhere. Our vision is for Scotland to be a walking nation. We want everyone to have the opportunity to be active every day, creating a happier, healthier and greener Scotland.

Our Walking for Health programme offers opportunities for people across Scotland to enjoy the benefits of walking and wheeling. We achieve this by supporting the delivery of short, safe, social, local, low-level Health Walks, led by trained staff and volunteer Walk Leaders. We also support walking, mobility and movement for older adults by working with staff in health and social care settings.

To support people towards meeting the UK Chief Medical Officers Physical Activity Guidelines for adults and older adults, we support the delivery of our Strength and Balance programme, promoting gentle movements to strengthen muscles, improve balance and boost confidence, which can be integrated into a Health Walk, health/care settings or done from the comfort of home.

We are looking for experienced freelance trainers to support this growing area of our work. The role will involve delivering training sessions to Health Walk Leaders, (many of whom are volunteers) and staff supporting adults in health and social care settings to enable them to promote walking with strength and balance. In some instances, we also deliver train-the-trainer courses to upskill staff to deliver Strength and Balance training in their own locality.

In the first year, we anticipate the requirement for delivery of 4 to 6 training sessions of 3.5 hours each.
