Role

We are actively seeking a Student Wellbeing and Support Lead to become a valued member of our close-knit, highly skilled team.

Newbattle Abbey College has a proud track record of meeting the needs of adults and young people at points of transition, helping them to change their lives for the better. Nestled within an 11th-century Cistercian monastery, our 125-acre parkland and woodland setting creates a college environment like no other.

Responsible for all aspects of Student Support at Newbattle Abbey College, the role-holder will take a proactive approach to student wellbeing, engagement and belonging. Leading by example, the role holder will foster a sense of student community, supporting each student to build relationships across the college community.

Newbattle Abbey College attracts many students who have experienced disadvantage, including a high proportion with disabilities and care experience. We are seeking a Student Wellbeing and Support Lead who possesses a deep sensitivity to the unique needs of our students and has a proven track record of supporting those facing challenges in their pursuit of academic success. We aim to ensure our programmes of study are inclusive, and this begins with attracting and supporting a diverse and talented team. We particularly welcome applications from minority groups.
