We are looking for a dynamic and experienced manager who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ young people and is committed to doing that through this strategic role.

As Capacity Building Manager, you will have an important role in developing the LGBT Charter as an invaluable inclusion programme supporting young people across Scotland, ensuring that the places where LGBTQ+ young people work, access services and learn are inclusive and welcoming. You will be responsible for a team who develop and deliver the Charter Programme and it’s aligned training packages whilst having a strategic goal of building partnerships and networks across Scotland.

This is an exciting role as we look to grow the LGBT Charter programme over the next 5 years; supporting young people to access inclusive education, services and workplaces.

We are looking for an individual who fits with the values of LGBT Youth Scotland, building strong relationships and partnerships both internally and externally, developing the LGBT Charter which is integral to our mission and vision. You will have strong organisational and communication skills as well as knowledge and experience in delivering and growing a commercial inclusion programme.

basketballscotland are recruiting a Social Impact Officer for their CashBack Communities of Basketball Programme, taking a youth-work approach to positively impact the lives of young people.

The Role

Work alongside an experienced basketball coach to change the lives of a group of 11-16 year olds. The aim is to have a positive impact by building confidence, enhancing physical and mental well-being and improving the learning and employability potential of those previously identified as most at risk of progressing into anti-social behaviour or crime.

Duties

• Work with a group of 11-16 year old pupils. This will include: one to one mentoring with young people; working collaboratively with partners in and outside of the school; supporting young people to obtain accredited and non-accredited qualifications; developing wider community opportunities.
• Utilising your youth work skill set, establish, support and deliver personalised support plans to the young people who may be most at risk of progressing to anti-social behaviour or crime, in order to increase their employability and employment options.
• Support young people to attend basketball sessions within their community, outside of regular school hours.
• Deliver activities to young people (in and out of school) which are centred around mental health and mindfulness to help them contribute positively to their communities.
• Develop and build strong community relationships with external stakeholders i.e.
• sportscotland, schools, Active Schools, SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), SSF (Scottish Sport Futures) and FARE Scotland.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to lead our community food and growing work at SPYF. Through our Blackhill’s Growing project, we are improving mental and physical health in our community. We bring people together and reduce isolation through creating and maintaining vital local greenspaces. We’re improving the local availability of fresh fruit and veg and providing dignified access to emergency food provision in our community. Above all, we’re supporting local people to improve their lives.

This varied role involves managing our growing spaces including our new community farm, working alongside our committed volunteers, establishing and developing partnerships with local schools, updating and responding to social media posts, carrying out project monitoring and evaluation, managing our Social Enterprise Development Officer and coordinating our community larder and veg barra.

A crucial part of this role will be to work with colleagues across the wider St Paul’s Youth Forum team to maximise the ways we can help fulfil local need by adding value to other projects and activities which we run. This post will entail some evening and weekend working.

Glasgow North East Carers Centre provides supports and services to unpaid family Carers who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability, including Young Carers and their families.

We are looking to recruit a Young Carer Worker who will help us deliver, develop and expand our services to Young Carers and their families throughout the North East of Glasgow.

The successful candidate will work with Young Carers and their families to help identify and provide services personalised to their own situation and experiences. This could include supports such as information and advice, emotional supports and breaks from caring delivered via a range of methods including on a one to one basis, family supports and groupwork activities.

The post is a flexible 35hr working week as it includes evening work, and occasionally weekend hours may be required.

A driving licence and use of a car is essential for the post.
