Role
Established in 1978, Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) provides a support, information and advocacy service for women, non-binary people, members of the trans community and young people aged 12 and over in Edinburgh, East and Midlothian who have experienced recent and / or historic sexual violence, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation. We also work in schools and with young people across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and strategically with multi-agency partners, towards preventing sexual violence.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to lead on the management and development of our Advocacy Service. The service provides trauma-informed support and advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence.

The post holder must be a bilingual speaker in Mandarin or Cantonese.
The post holder will support Black and Minority Ethnic women, their children and young people experiencing and/or fleeing domestic abuse or forced marriage. Applicants ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with Black and Minority Ethnic Communities; especially, women, children, and young people; an understanding of the legislative and cultural issues surrounding domestic abuse/forced marriage and their effects on Black and Minority Ethnic women, their children and young people.
Post holder must have a minimum of SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 or above to meet registration requirements of SSSC or relevant qualification such as degree in Social Work or Community Education.
Post will involve unsocial and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

EDDACS Apprentice

Edinburgh Domestic Abuse Court Service (EDDACS) within Edinburgh Woman’s Aid (EWA) provides support and advocacy for female victims of domestic abuse crimes which are going through the court system. The EDDACS team support clients by explaining the court process, the potential outcomes from the court and by completing risk assessment and an individualized support & safety plan with the client. EDDACS will prepare a report for all hearings to inform the court of risk and will keep clients informed of the court's progress and outcomes. The EDDACS Apprentice will be based within the EDDACS service.
