Supervising Social Worker – Fostering

Role

Since developing our teenage fostering service Room 4U in 2017, we have had great success in creating strong relationships with a small, dedicated cohort of caregiving families to ensure we are always working closely in partnership with them to support young people.

We are looking for a new Supervising Social Worker who can play a lead role in developing and expanding our work. To do this you will:

  • Provide direct support to our current foster carers
  • Co-lead the recruitment, assessment and training of new carers.
  • Work with our other teams in Dean and Cauvin to provide additional supports and activities for young people and families.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and:

  • Is skilled and experienced in delivering direct work with children, young people and families.
  • Has a strong understanding of fostering legislation and regulations
  • Is experienced in caseload management, assessment and planning.
  • Able to build strong, trusting and honest relationships with young people and families.
  • Understands child and young person development and trauma-informed practices.
  • Has experience of gaining the views of those we support, measuring impact and reporting on work.
  • Is positive, thoughtful, and rights-focused

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.The successful applicant will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The minimum educational requirement for this post is a degree or diploma in social work or equivalent.
