Role
At Venture Trust, we are looking for another Outdoor Therapist based in Fife (though may be asked to work in other localities) to join one of our locality teams on a fixed-term basis for 18 months.
Our Outdoor Therapists work with people experiencing complex life circumstances. They provide Outdoor Therapy in the hope to support clients to move forwards in ways that are meaningful for them. They work with clients to explore and reflect through individual (and sometimes) group therapy.
Our Outdoor Therapy Service is offered mostly outdoors in urban greenspaces, and on occasion, online. It is aimed at adults aged 16+, as well as younger people aged 10-16.
Successful candidates will:
- be therapists registered with an appropriate professional body who can work thoughtfully and ethically with a client group that can have complex clinical presentations
- be able to work individually to meet the specific needs of their clients whilst maintaining high professional standards
- have personal or professional experience of outdoor environments and will have the capacity to articulate the reasoning behind working therapeutically in natural environment
- be able to work reflectively and effectively within a team and be committed to working towards the aims of the service and the organisation
Ideal candidates will have:
- experience working with younger people aged 10-16
- experience of facilitating therapeutic groups and reflective spaces
- experience of training other professionals, particularly mental health professionals
- specific experience of the client groups that Venture Trust engages with, for example, with hard-to-reach young people, homelessness, forensic clients
- had training and have experience of working with complex trauma presentations
- qualifications to support working in outdoor environments

The Youth Agency works with young people aged 8-25, within Wester Hailes and the surrounding communities of Broomhouse, Sighthill, Parkhead and Longstone.
The Youth Agency are looking for youth workers with experience of working/volunteering with young people in one or more of the following settings: drop in provision, detached, groupwork, individual support and schools work.
Any offer of employment is subject PVG Membership, the cost of which will be paid for by the Youth Agency.
Purpose
To develop purposeful links with young people and work with them to develop their ideas and create opportunities for themselves and the local community. All work will be negotiated in partnership with young people where their demands and aspirations are accepted and respected. Openness and flexibility will be key aspects in ensuring that young people have the relevant information to make positive choices in their lives.
Key Tasks
- To make contact with young people in Wester Hailes and surrounding areas and identify their needs and aspirations.
- To participate in the delivery of a range of Youth Agency services which meet the identified needs and aspirations of young people. Sessional Youth Workers are expected to work on sites both outdoors and centre based.
- To plan, prepare and deliver youth work programmes, including contributing to evaluations and reviews.
- To provide ongoing support and information to young people on a variety of issues.
- To encourage and support the involvement of young people in all aspects of the Agency and the local community.
- To adhere to current policy and practice in all aspects of the Agency's work.
- To contribute to the effective administration of Youth Agency services.
- To take part in training deemed necessary by the current requirements of the Agency.
- To undertake any other duties which may be required.

We are recruiting three new trustees.
We support young people in reaching their full potential by building their confidence and self-belief through participation in outdoor adventure activities. We deliver residential courses, primarily in the West of Scotland, for groups of young people from across the UK. Our Trustees
The board of trustees needs to be able to shape strategy and effect organisational change alongside a very heavy delivery workload. Holding the charity to account, they ensure value for donors’ money. They are responsible for ensuring that risks to the charity and young people are managed and mitigated.
In this small organisation, the Trustees are involved in the management of the charity and the challenges that brings. Trustees meet at least four times a year, either in Argyll or Edinburgh, face to face or with video conferencing.
Experience of charity governance, fundraising and outdoor pursuits would be useful. Sharing our determination to support disadvantaged young people using outdoor learning is essential. We also would welcome applicants with strong skills and experience in any one of finance, GDPR, child protection and safeguarding, youth work (inequalities and inclusion) and health and safety regulation.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a charity that is firmly embedded in the community. Based in Peebles, Peeblesshire Youth Trust supports 10-14 year olds throughout Tweeddale to build resilience and achieve their potential. We support our young people to develop good relationships with their peers and families, and to make a positive impact in our community.
The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff and have overall responsibility for its volunteers and associated support programmes. You will be an excellent communicator, and be able to engage with, and understand the issues faced by children and young people with low confidence and self-esteem.
