Role
This is a new role in a really impactful, empowering and supportive values-led environment. This is not a typical business development role but rather an exciting opportunity to have a more strategic approach by starting with learning, policy and research rather than chasing funding opportunities.
There is specific work to share the approach and impact of our £2m 5-year Lifting Neighbourhoods Together approach with a wider audience in the public and third sectors.
This is a diverse role in a diverse organisation. Community Renewal Trust has 45 staff and a wide array of work in neighbourhoods and social enterprises. This includes: two neighbourhood teams delivering a whole-person, whole-neighbourhood approach; two food pantries; a team of Roma staff supporting Scotland’s Roma with advice and community development; a consultancy social enterprise; and Caledonia Funeral Aid.
Our focus is on ending poverty for households and whole-neighbourhoods, not just tacking poverty or mitigating poverty; our learning about this from both successes and failures is extremely relevant and needs to be shared widely.
Because this is a new role we are open to suggestions and negotiating options for this post.

As a member of the senior management team, the Assistant Director (Programmes and Participation) is instrumental in leading Together’s strategic initiatives across a broad spectrum of programme development, with a significant focus on enhancing the rights and participation of babies, toddlers, and early years children. This role is pivotal in supporting the Director by managing essential areas of operational and strategic responsibility, facilitating the effective implementation of Together’s strategic priorities, and ensuring programmes are impactful and aligned with organisational goals.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Overseeing the development of Together’s programmes, leading innovative initiatives and supporting Together's Director as a spokesperson on key children’s rights matters.
- Developing and managing fundraising strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with funders and stakeholders, and overseeing the financial management of all programmes and participation budgets.
- Enhancing children’s participation initiatives and implementing participatory practices across all programme activities.
- Management and mentoring of the Programmes and Participation team, encouraging a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Throughout the role, the post-holder will be expected to involve Together’s membership – including children and young people – whenever possible and appropriate.

Fife Communities Action Network (FCCAN) is a network of community groups in Fife that are taking action on climate change. Our aim is to empower and enable communities to create a low carbon future and promote local resilience and well-being.
We have an exciting opportunity to lead our Fife Climate Hub team, funded by the Scottish Government.
The Fife Climate Hub is part of a new network of regional community climate action hubs, created by the Scottish Government. The Hub empowers community-led action on the climate crisis. Our vision is for a growing Fife-wide network of groups taking climate action to meet the needs of their communities. We build capacity of existing community groups working on climate, encourage collaboration and reach beyond the climate engaged to grow a diverse network across Fife. We also provide a voice for our members to influence local and national policy. Together we are driving change and strengthening climate resilience in Fife.
The Hub offers training, advice, inspiration, networking, funding and signposting to places of support. We provide opportunities for networking and shared learning to create a strong climate movement across Fife and drive change across all sectors.
We’re looking for a passionate, enthusiastic leader to further develop the project. This is an exciting opportunity to shape community climate action within Scotland through a model of localised ‘grassroots’ collaborative support.
The Project Manager will ensure the Hub and its aims, objectives and outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget. This involves line managing a team of community engagement officers, communications and administrative staff. The Project Manager will oversee delivery of the action plan and lead on monitoring, evaluation and reporting. They will represent Fife Climate Hub and FCCAN to external partners and networks. The role also involves developing a long-term strategic plan for the Hub and applying for funding to continue the project.
The post is currently funded until 31st March 2025, but there is the possibility of extension to March 2026 and beyond, subject to continuation funding.
The post is available as a secondment, subject to agreement from both parties.
The Chief Executive plays a key role in setting strategic direction with the organisation’s Board and in ensuring the organisation adheres to financial, legal and ethical guidelines and standards. The Chief Executive oversees planning and implementation of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum’s budgetary and financial management and its fundraising, communications and operational strategies. The Chief Executive of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum also acts as Chief Executive of the organisation’s trading subsidiary, Fair Change Co.
Location: There will be a number of agreed days (at least 10%) when the role-holder will be required to work from Scottish Fair Trade’s office in Glasgow with other members of the staff team and at other times will be able to work from home or in the office. Some travel around Scotland and on occasions to other parts of the UK and elsewhere to attend meetings etc. will be required.

We are recruiting an Area Manager for Scotland to create and cultivate sustainable community services across your area to contribute to PAPYRUS creating suicide-safer communities for young people across the whole of the UK.
What you will do:
- You will lead the EQUIP strategy in your Area.
- You will ensure that PAPYRUS is represented at appropriate local and regional Suicide Prevention groups and bodies across your Area.
- Manage Service Delivery in your Area.
- Develop an operational plan to deliver the strategy.
- Drive the effective performance of the Area through strong leadership which sets high expectations of all staff.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience of building, managing and enabling a successful team.
- Experience of identifying new approaches to underpin strategy, progressing new opportunities and translating these into sustainable, funded projects in the community.
- Previous experience of preparing a budget, securing funding for projects/ programmes and having financial accountability for successful implementation.
- Experience of managing complex projects with a positive impact on social change.
- Proven track record of successfully building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings.
- Proven experience of effective working as part of a management group.
- A bachelor’s degree level or equivalent professional qualification in Leadership, Management, Health, Social Care, Social Sciences, Education, Business Development, Community Work, or Public Health.
