Role

The ALLIANCE is excited to be recruiting a new Service Designer to join the ALISS (A Local Information Service for Scotland) team. We are looking for a motivated and creative individual to join our small but dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of user-focused service experiences, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with a passion for service design and a willingness to engage in user research activities.

The Service Designer will undertake service design activity across all aspects of the ALISS programme.

The successful candidate for this role would be expected to have:

  • Relevant qualification or experience in Service Design.
  • Strong passion for user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of prototyping tools and techniques.
  • Eagerness to engage in user research activities, with a basic understanding of research methodologies.
  • Understanding of service design within digital and physical environments.
  • A creative mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate design concepts and decisions to those implementing solutions (e.g. ALISS developers) and people with low digital skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
