Role
Camas is the Iona Community’s outdoor activity centre on Mull. ~We have a strong focus on Building Community and connection; with each other and with our surroundings. Camas is home to a team of staff and volunteers who live down a 2km track welcoming guests to share a simple way of life. The centre is house in 200-year-old cottages which nestle in a beautiful bay on the Ross of Mull. The shore, garden and woodland provide an incredible setting for personal challenge and community Growth
The Camas Activity Worker’s role is to have significant input into the quality assurance and health and safety aspects of the centre’s outdoor activities. This includes significant time delivering outdoor activities including:
·kayaking, coasteering, wild swimming and raft-building
·abseiling
·wild camping and hillwalking
·wide games and indoor team-building activities
A large proportion of the time will be spent leading these activities, while supporting other resident staff and volunteers to contribute fully to the delivery of the activities.

We are looking for a 2 days a week CAP Community Manager at Holy Trinity Church, Wester Hailes in Edinburgh.
The successful applicant will take the lead in running our Thursday “Drop In” for all our CAP clients and be our main contact with the local Job Centre Plus.
This exciting opening is for someone compassionate and able to relate to the poor, needy and vulnerable with a desire to solve unemployment issues, while sharing the Christian faith. It is essential to be a good communicator, proficient in the use of media, IT such as MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint and confident presenting to large and small groups
Working alongside the CAP Debt Centre Team, you will support our debt and job club clients. We’d like to find someone able to communicate the mission and culture of CAP, both in the community and in Holy Trinity Church, continuing to expand our network of external referral agencies, while at the same time helping to build the team of volunteers.
Director/Trustee of the Renfield Centre
The Renfield Centre is looking to appoint several individuals to its Board of Directors. The Board plays an essential and active role in pursuing the successful operation and development of the Renfield Centre, which is a Scottish charitable company limited by guarantee (SC153177; SC022996), located in the City Centre in premises owned by the Renfield Street Trust. With its Christian ethos (but no denominational affiliations) it is committed to the improvement of the wellbeing of the whole community, in physical, mental and spiritual respects. It provides short-term lets of serviced, IT-equipped accommodation, with capacities ranging from 8 to 200, to facilitate a huge range of social, professional, learning and creative activities. It also supports developments in the performing arts, and in addition offers long-term subsidised accommodation to enable particular charities to continue their vital work in meeting specialised needs. It presently employs a small team of seven permanent staff. It was incorporated in 1994.
It is an interesting time to become involved, as the Centre is on the threshold of initiating significant developments which will increase its prominence and contribute to the improvement of the ambience of this part of the City Centre. This will include the re-establishment of an integral café, operated by a wholly-owned trading subsidiary Renfield Enterprises
The Board is looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals from all walks of life who feel they can become committed to the Centre’s objectives and take an active part in the Board’s deliberations and decision-making. The Board generally meets once a month, afternoon or evening and in-person or hybrid as arranged. Past experience in a relevant context is expected, and competencies in management, marketing or finance would be useful but not essential.
Directors of the company are simultaneously Trustees in respect of its charitable recognition.

The Scottish Episcopal Institute (SEI) seeks to appoint a Director of Contextual Formation. The Director of Contextual Formation oversees all elements of SEI’s dispersed, part-residential, formation-led placements and contextual training in Initial Ministerial Education (IME); teaches on all levels from certificate to master’s qualifications in the areas of ministry, missiology and pastoral/practical theology, including supervising and marking dissertations. In addition to IME, SEI provides a range of training and support for lay and ordained members of the Scottish Episcopal Church to which the Director of Contextual Formation contributes. The post is based in Edinburgh with some flexibility for home working from another location in Scotland.
Candidates applying for the post will have:
• Episcopal/Anglican holy orders;
• Demonstrable ability in theological education, curate training, knowledge of current ecclesiological trends and an entrepreneurial spirit in the Episcopal/Anglican tradition;
• Postgraduate qualification in ministry, missiology, pastoral/practical theology or a closely related field (at least to master’s level);
• Passion for theological and vocational training that equips students to foster vibrant church life through evangelism and discipleship;
• The candidate will have drive and enthusiasm, be able to work on their own initiative and possess an understanding of the missiological and theological issues of the twenty-first century in Scotland.

LAYC is recruiting a Project Worker to support the delivery of accredited learning and youth awards, with the network of community-based youth and children’s Member Groups within Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The post will be based at LAYC and will have a Lothian wide remit.
The post will be fixed for an initial period of 2 years at 18 hours per week on a salary scale of £28,046 - £32,010 pro rata, plus access to a 7% employers contribution pension.
