Midlothian Sure Start has been in existence since 2001 and employs over 70 members of staff providing a service in Family Learning centres and in the community. We are currently recruiting for multiple early years posts across our 6 Family Learning Centre’s. The role is to support and assist in the day-to-day running of the Playroom, creating a welcoming environment for parents and children and contributing to each child’s self-development and level of autonomy.
A qualification in childcare or working towards one and a child protection certificate or commitment to undertake one is essential as is experience of working with young children. An understanding of the difficulties experienced by vulnerable families and good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.

Our Gilmerton Road Project provides short breaks and outreach support for children and young people (aged 5-21) with learning disabilities and we're excited to offer a unique opportunity for experienced Residential Support Worker's to join our dedicated team.
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering children and young people to explore their world, build connections, and create lasting memories by;
Facilitating Short Breaks: As part of a highly skilled team of practitioners, you'll welcome the young people we support to make the most of their short breaks, developing new skills, socialising, and gaining independence while they are in our care.

Barnardo's Scotland Fostering Edinburgh have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supervising Social worker to join our busy team on a Full Time (37 hours) permanent basis.
Location: The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis with their office base in Edinburgh, however some meetings and training occur Scotland Wide.
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will work within a team of supervising social workers, children's workers, therapists, education liaison worker, managers, and admin staff responsible for the recruitment and support of foster carers who provide care to looked after children and young people who are referred to the service from the Local Authority.

This team is supported by experienced administrative staff, and the work of the supervising social workers, childrens worker (PW2) and a Psychotherapist. The Edinburgh team is the only Scottish Service operating the Mockingbird model, supported by the fostering network.

Edinburgh Family Support Partnership is a transformational new collaboration between City of Edinburgh Children's Services, Barnardo's Scotland, Children 1st, Citadel, Safe Families and Edinburgh Community Food. As well as connecting families with holistic responsive and flexible support the multi-disciplinary teams will empower families to ‘reach in' themselves and be supported along their journey through a relational and strengths-based approach.
Our aim of providing early intervention that empowers families to take control encourages an integrated approach, leads to tailored plans and provides the right support when it is needed and diverts children and families from escalating into statutory processes. Families are at the heart of our approach and restorative family led decision making drives our support in partnership with families, their networks, communities and enables them to address challenges before they become a crisis.
