Do you have a successful track record in fundraising to build upon the significant amount of funding we have already
attracted to kick-start our Tayvallich Initiative?
We are seeking a part-time, freelance Project Development Manager who will work with our Board, Community Steering Group and Housing Working Group Lead to establish and drive forward the development of housing for affordable rent on our community-owned land.
Your role will be to help us select the most suitable housing agency to deliver our vision for housing and work in partnership with them to make this a reality. You will also liaise with planners about options for housing on community-owned land and prepare pre-planning and planning applications. At each phase, you will also take a lead in involving and consulting our local community on our proposed plans to ensure continued engagement and commitment.
- Freelance opportunity, fixed term, up to October 2025
- Hours: on average 2 days a week (with flexibility to meet the varying demands of this role). Some out-of-hours working will be required
- Remuneration: £275 per day (inclusive of VAT if applicable) with a set allowance for travel and expenses £545,950 total fee
- Reporting to: Chair of Tayvallich Initiative Board
- Location: This role is home-based. You will need to be able to commit to attend regular face-to-face meetings in our community of Tayvallich, Mid Argyll on a scheduled basis

Youth Participation Worker

About the role:
The Youth Participation Worker will work as part of a small team designing, planning and delivering the Space Training Academy’s exciting new project – Wellbeing onto Work (WOW).
The WOW project will work with young people aged 16-24yrs, supporting the transition between school and employment. The Youth Participation Worker will offer group sessions and 1:1 support to help young people build on their skills and improve their confidence. Sessions may take place at the Broomhouse Hub and in other outreach locations throughout Edinburgh.
Key tasks in the role will include:
- Create promotional material and network locally, recruiting suitable young people on to the programme
- Plan and deliver WOW group sessions
- Meet with young people on a 1:1 basis to deliver appropriate individual support
- Track and evaluate the progress of the project to demonstrate impact and inform funder reporting
- Maintain accurate, detailed, records for each young person including attendance and progress
- Stay abreast of local opportunities for young people, such as community groups, jobs, work placements, further education and voluntary opportunities
- Source and commission external trainers/suppliers to deliver sessions where specialised knowledge and/or skills are required
- Supporting volunteers in the project

Welcome Through Football - Group Worker

To assist the Project Lead in the delivery of a programme of interesting and fun sessions/activities in consultation with young people to ensure they are at the centre of their own planning. ‘Welcome Through Football’ aims to assist in the integration and inclusion of recently arrived young refugees, asylum seekers and young people with a migrant background aged 15-25.
