Role

We are seeking a Project Director with substantial experience of working with children and young people and the knowledge and skills to manage and lead The BIG Project, a local community-based organisation in South West Edinburgh.

Reporting directly to the Board, you will take a lead in setting the strategic direction of the organisation, will be responsible for all operational aspects of its day to day running and will engage in an element of direct service delivery across the 5-18 age group.

Established in 2002, The BIG Project is a community-based Youth and Children’s charity located Broomhouse, South West Edinburgh which supports children and young people aged 5-18 years, to learn, achieve, have fun, and feel good about themselves.

A trusted and much valued part of the local community The BIG Project provides educational, social and recreational opportunities for children & young people with a specific focus on those who are experiencing difficulties at home, at school or in the community. We do this through a range of universal and targeted services and our core programme includes children’s activity groups, open access youth clubs, small groupwork and individual support and special interest groups with a particular focus on the Arts. The staff team comprises, full-time and sessional youth workers, a committed and skilled team of volunteers and specialist staff.
