Lar Housing Trust is looking for a Community Engagement Worker on a full or part-time basis, hours can be flexible.

We are looking for someone with relevant qualifications and experience to work with Lar, engaging with local community groups, external stakeholders and tenants to make sure our sites Glasgow become places where the entire community in the surrounding area, will have a development of which they can be proud, and which will offer opportunities for all.

This will involve following Lar’s community engagement strategy to engage local community groups and maximise use of the community spaces we are building in our new developments. We are keen to see grassroots organisations (particularly groups with fewer resources) use our facilities and to run community activities which adds value to the community.

We are looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic individual who believes in community empowerment, and who has experience of community development with strong networking and communication skills. You will also have strong skills in building relationships and experience of partnership working as well as good IT skills. You might have worked at local or national levels but you will have an understanding of how local communities work and experience of working with grassroots organisations.

In return, we offer a full-time equivalent salary of £26,500- £30,000 dependent on experience. This position will be based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working extending to evenings and weekends as required. The position requires someone educated to degree level and/or previous experience in these areas.
