The Service

LinkLiving is a trauma-informed Scottish health and wellbeing charity that supports people of all ages to overcome the negative impacts of trauma, mental health, inequality, and isolation. Our Link Academy SQA training centre provides a wide range of accredited and non-accredited courses that help people develop new skills. The service works hard and creatively to maintain the early engagement of participants. The Job

The purpose of the job is to recruit, train and support a team of volunteers who have an interest in, or have been affected by homelessness. As Volunteer Peer Educators, they will deliver a range workshops in Fife high schools, focusing on homelessness prevention, independent living skills and wellbeing. From experience, we know that pupils are more likely to listen to peers with lived experience than a teacher or adult sharing similar information.

You will manage volunteers by providing training and support in their role while also supporting their personal development and future aspirations. As a Project Worker, you will work with local schools to implement the programme as part of their provision. You will also develop relationships with other agencies and actively promote Linkliving's programmes and services.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual with a strong educational background and a passion for volunteer management to join our team. You will possess a good standard of education, with standard grade passes (or equivalent) in core subjects such as English and Maths.

Your experience in coordinating training courses will be crucial, and you will bring a wealth of knowledge in best practices in volunteer management, particularly with an understanding of Investing in Volunteers. You will have a solid grasp of the Trauma Skilled Practice Framework (NES Framework) and have demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex needs or backgrounds.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of the employability sector and volunteering initiatives. Your effective communication skills, both written and oral, will allow you to convey information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.

You will have experience in developing and delivering training programmes and be knowledgeable about evaluation methods to ensure their effectiveness. A non-judgemental attitude and a willingness to embrace diversity are core values you hold, enabling you to work empathetically with volunteers from various backgrounds.

Adaptability and the ability to integrate into new environments quickly are key, as is the capacity to work openly and honestly within a team setting. You will be adept at prioritising and planning both your workload and that of your team members.

Building and nurturing relationships with other voluntary organisations, employability networks, and statutory agencies will be second nature to you. Additionally, you must have the ability to drive and be willing to travel between services as required.

The Job

Supported Living

This service provides individually tailored visiting support to people living across Fife. This is a long-term service with individual support packages funded through social work spot contracts.

In this role, you will be supported to work using a person centred and trauma informed approach and develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of problems, supporting them to cope in difficult times and working towards a good life. You will provide emotional, practical and social support to enable people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives. Your role may involve liaising with other agencies that may be involved with the person you are supporting, advocating on their behalf, and accessing professional help if required and appropriate.

Our Outreach and Advice Service provides short-term advice and support to C~urb Private Sector Leasing (PSL) tenants.

LinkLiving Project Workers provide outcome-focused support to help tenants maintain their tenancies. The level and content of the support provided will be tailored to meet the needs of each person, both in terms of frequency and content

The Job

The purpose of the job is to support people with complex needs living in temporary accommodation through the provision of opportunities to enhance their independent living skills, and support tenancy sustainment and employability. You will offer advice and guidance in relation to benefits as well as supporting tenants who have no recourse to public funds referring to appropriate organisations as required. Provide information in relation to employment and training that would benefit the tenants you work with, making referrals where appropriate. You will work closely with the PSL team as well as your LinkLiving colleagues to provide a service that meets the needs of the tenants.

You will be responsible for supporting PSL tenants by providing high quality one to one support creating a plan with achievable goals. The level and content of the support you will provide will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual, both in terms of frequency and content. You will be expected to work with minimum supervision.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid educational background and a strong understanding of working with individuals who have complex needs. They should have experience supporting clients facing complex issues and possess a comprehensive knowledge of housing options, and a deep knowledge of the services available in Edinburgh. They should have experience supporting clients with employability issues, accessing employment or volunteering opportunities and training / education.

Effective communication skills, including excellent written, oral, and IT proficiency, are essential for this role. The candidate should also have a familiarity with the benefits systems to support tenants throughout the application and appeals processes.

The candidate should demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude and a willingness to embrace diversity. adaptability, honesty, and collaboration within a team setting are essential qualities. Strong prioritisation and planning skills, as well as proficiency in using ICT equipment and client management systems, are necessary. The candidate should also have the ability to build relationships and partnerships with other voluntary and statutory agencies.

The Service

Our Older Persons' Service addresses loneliness and social isolation among older people through volunteer befriending, social cafes, and our Help to Stay at Home service.

The Job

The Older Persons Service promotes social inclusion opportunities for isolated and lonely vulnerable older people by providing 1:1 support in people’s own homes. The regular contact that this service will bring will make a real difference to an older person’s life. Older people will ideally benefit emotionally through shared interests and experiences with their matched staff member and also through practical assistance, such as help with transport to Health Services including GP, dentist and hospital appointments, collection of prescription, support to attend appointments, shopping trips and social outings.

The purpose of the job is to provide this much-needed support to our elderly service users while working closely with the project workers and volunteers to support the people who receive our services to become engaged and included within their communities.

About You

You will have good computer skills and the ability to use technology efficiently to maintain and update records, combined with a knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting older people. The successful candidate will be able to work openly and honestly in a team setting and have an ability to prioritise their own caseload.

A valid driver's license and access to a car that can be used daily to travel between services as required is essential for this role.
