Role
Scottish Sports Futures use the power of sport and physical activity to engage with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in Scotland and empower them to be confident, healthy and happy.

The Role
All SSF staff have responsibility for achieving SSF’s strategic goals of Developing People, Improving Health and Wellbeing, and Strengthening Communities.
SSF Sessional Workers have the specific responsibility of delivering SSF’s delivery programmes across our four key local authorities: Fife, Glasgow, North Ayrshire and Stirling. The core function of this role will be delivering the SSF Chance:2:Be programme in North Ayrshire.
SSF Chance:2:Be is a referral-based, intensive personal development programme, for young people who are disengaging from traditional education, offering safe environments to explore personal development, set goals, and complete accessible training and accreditation. The programme uses a combination of sport and physical activity and youth work to support the young people towards a positive destination.

Green Spaces & Wellbeing Officer

Abundant Borders works to reduce food insecurity, improve wellbeing and strengthen community resilience across the Scottish Borders. We do this by creating and supporting a network of community food gardens where people can learn to grow food sustainably, build skills, connect with others and improve their physical and mental health. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and our gardens provide welcoming, inclusive green spaces that bring communities together.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, organised and community-minded Green Spaces Officer to support volunteers across our network of community gardens. This role will help people to take part in outdoor activities that improve wellbeing, increase confidence, and strengthen social connection.
Working closely with Garden Leaders and volunteer teams, the Green Spaces Officer will help ensure our gardens are safe, welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone can participate—particularly individuals facing disadvantage, isolation, or poor mental health.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, supporting people, and helping communities to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support volunteers to participate in garden sessions in inclusive, safe, positive ways
- Provide 1:1 support where needed, helping individuals to build confidence and skills
- Organise small group activities such as nature walks, seasonal tasks, wellbeing sessions, and gentle gardening
- Work with staff and volunteers to ensure gardens remain welcoming, accessible community spaces
- Help volunteers to set goals, reflect on progress, and engage fully in community life
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and volunteer feedback
- Support the development of wellbeing-focused initiatives within garden settings
- Liaise with referring partners (e.g. mental health teams, housing associations, support workers)
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient and able to build trusting relationships
- Comfortable supporting people with additional needs or low confidence
- Passionate about the role green spaces play in wellbeing
- Able to work independently across multiple locations
- Organised, reliable and confident managing small groups
- A good communicator who can work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and partners
- Experience in community gardening, mental health support, social care, outdoor learning or community development is welcome—but above all, we value enthusiasm, attitude and commitment.

About Sunny Cycles
Sunny Cycles is a community-focused cycling organisation which enables people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of cycling and cycling activities. Founded in 2022, we support mental health, social inclusion, and accessibility by providing led rides, cycling lessons, adaptive cycling for disabled people, and creating welcoming spaces for refugees and New Scots. We operate a community hub at Glasgow Green, and Victoria Park offering free or low-cost cycling sessions for individuals facing financial hardship, social isolation, or discrimination. We provide adapted bikes for those who cannot ride standard 2 wheelers and work with individuals and groups within the community to enable people to experience the mental and physical benefits of cycling.
Sunny Cycles operates as a registered charity and a social enterprise. As we grow, we are looking for a Development & Enterprise Officer who can strengthen our income generation pathways and support the long-term sustainability of our work, including our expanding work with disability and care-home cycling programmes.
Role Purpose
The Development & Enterprise Officer will lead on developing and delivering income-generating opportunities that support Sunny Cycles’ mission. This includes building partnerships, developing commercial activities, strengthening our social enterprise offer, managing budgets and ensuring financial sustainability so we can move away from grant funding.
The role is ideal for someone who is proactive, entrepreneurial, and passionate about inclusive cycling and community wellbeing.

Ark is a major provider of Housing, Care and Support to people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia and autism.
Ark supports people to live independently in their own homes providing everything from a few hours a week social and life admin support to 24/7 care supporting with personal care, medication, household tasks, attending appointments and leisure activities.
We have lots of opportunities across Scotland for our Support Worker roles. As we provide full training no previous is experience is required.
