Role

Amnesty International UK wants to inspire and mobilise more people with its message of freedom, justice and equality. To do this, we are searching for a Scotland Team Assistant who can assist our staff in Scotland in our campaigning, policy, advocacy, education and fundraising work. Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, all our staff in Scotland have been working from home, but we are now preparing for some limited return to office work and the Scotland Team Assistant will facilitate that return as well as assist our move to “hybrid” working both at home and in the office.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly efficient and effective team assistant to play a central part in a vibrant and busy team. You will be accountable for ensuring the smooth running of our administrative and financial systems in Scotland and that they are developed and improved where necessary. You will also ensure that the office is prepared for the limited return of staff in line with all appropriate laws, regulations and guidance relating to Coronavirus, Health and Safety as well as fire safety, first aid etc. We are a small team, and there is plenty of opportunity to directly assist in our work. This includes our online events, Team meetings and facilitating communications within the whole organisation and with our activists and supporters.

About you

We need a pro-active, enthusiastic, can-do person with demonstratable administrative experience. You’ll develop and manage the office systems that underpin the work of your team colleagues, ensuring that we provide responsive advice, assistance and communications to all our stakeholders, members and supporters. You’ll have experience of successfully building and maintaining administrative systems, monitoring financial systems and at least some aspects of office management.

Your strong communication skills will allow you to keep the Scotland Team connected to the rest of the organisation, to our members and supporters and to each other as we work from home and move towards “hybrid” working at home and in the office. Often as the first point of contact with the organisation, it is vital that you provide a friendly and welcoming response to those who contact us in person, by phone or in writing. You will be able to do so with confidence, responding to individual’s needs and queries with ease.

Do you want to use your skills, knowledge and experience to change the world? If your answer is yes, then we would encourage you to apply.
