The service
WDP has been providing drug and alcohol services in Cheshire West and Chester since 1 April 2019 and are proud of the high performance achieved in the service during this time. The service is commissioned by Cheshire West and Chester Council and is CQC registered.
The service works with Young People & Adults and actively promotes Recovery with individuals directly affected by substance misuse issues, those affected by someone else’s substance misuse and the local community, to improve the wider health and wellbeing of society.
Together we offer a wide range of pharmacological, psychosocial, recovery-orientated, health focussed and inpatient interventions that support individuals and their families who wish to receive advice, assessment and treatment for their drug and/ or alcohol related needs.
The role
The role is key to get the client journey correct from the start being the first point of contact undertaking assessments and engaging clients into treatment. You will be required to:
Experience of working within substance misuse or a related Health and Social Care setting is essential. The successful candidate must be committed, resourceful and highly motivated to engage service users within treatment services and promote recovery through their daily practice. This role will require the post holder to assess the needs of service users and engagement into treatment.
An emphatic and non-judgmental approach is imperative, as this role involves working with a wide range of challenging issues and behaviours and many difficult to engage clients. Good time management and team working skills are essential in this fast-paced service.
Location
We are advertising for 2 post to cover 3 Hubs, out initial vision for this was 1 full time post being based in Chester and 1 full time post covering Ellesmere Port and Northwich. However, depending on the range of applicants we get we would consider job shares and other cover arrangements.
