Edinburgh Young Carers is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified applicant to join the service in developing
and providing high quality support to young carers in Edinburgh between the ages of 5 and 25 years, who care for
someone with problematic substance use at home.
The postholder will work alongside colleagues to raise awareness of young carers and their support needs, identify
hidden young carers, carry out Young Carers Statements/Adult Carer Support Plans and provide support to ensure
that young carers’ identified personal outcomes are being met, in accordance with the Carers (Scotland) Act
2016.
The candidate will need to be suitably qualified and have proven experience of working with children and young people
affected by parental substance use difficulties, with at least three years proven experience in a role including
individual and group work. The candidate will also have a sound understanding of Child Protection issues and
relevant legislation.
