Barnardo's Linksfield Service is an established residential children's house in Aberdeen city. The house provides alternative to family care in a small group setting for up to 5 young people aged 12 plus.
At Linksfield we aim to provide a nurturing environment, applying an attachment lead approach and offering a sense of emotional containment and safety for young people who have experienced early family and relational trauma.
Working predominantly with long term placements and in accordance with the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, we are committed to embracing the continuing care agenda and to support our young people to remain living in placement through to adulthood where possible.
We are recruiting a Senior Residential Project Worker to join our team , this is a 365 day service and requires flexible working as part of a shift pattern which will include sleep in duties.
Job Purpose
In addition to the job description and person specifications requirements, we are looking for a highly motivated and flexible person to join our team, working directly with Looked After and Accommodated young people.
Care will be delivered as part of a team, where practice reflects a therapeutic ethos of care.
You will fulfil a Senior Practitioner role, involving a diverse and enriching range of duties, including: supporting a team of Residential Project Workers to undertake direct work with children and families; care planning and inter-agency work.
Your key role will be in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the young people and to contribute to their social, physical and emotional wellbeing.
