We work in Scotland with older people’s groups who provide vital activities and services for older people in their local community. We campaign on the issues that older people tell us are important to them.

To drive forward Age Scotland’s policy development work in, primarily, housing, fuel poverty, energy efficiency, and household energy use. The role may include further policy areas subject to need and experience.

The policy officer will research the needs of older people and the impact of public policy on their lives and identify solutions.

Monitor, analyse, and influence public policy developments that affect the interests of older people in Scotland, including the Scottish Parliament, Scottish Government, local government and other relevant bodies and organisations.

Work with older people and partners to advance the understanding of the housing and energy needs and experiences of people over the age of 50 and develop policy proposals where change is needed.

The post will be a hybrid blend of office based (in Edinburgh) and home-based work. As a guide, roughly 40% of the working week will be based at our office in Causewayside, Edinburgh.

Tap into IT Where You Are charity (tapintoit.org.uk) are looking for a Digital Support Worker to join our passionate team. We provide services and support to enable older people in Edinburgh (including those with additional support needs) to access the benefits of the internet and technology.

The role will be to provide a one to one tech support service that is tuned into the needs of older people (post-retirement age) in their own homes, helping them to stay connected, involved, and able to do what they need to do online. 12 hours per week at this stage but expected to increase with rising demand. Flexibility is required and you must be able to travel within Edinburgh (public transport/bike/car).

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Dove Centre for a full-time driver to join our fast growing team. Hours are 35 per week Monday to Friday. A D1 license is essential, MiDAS (Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme) and first aid qualifications would be preferred although full training can be given. Due to insurance requirements applicants must be aged between 35 and 75. This role involves working with older people and people with various disabilities, experience would be preferred but again full training will be given.

Salary is circa £20k per annum with pension contributions paid through workplace pension.
