We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Maintenance Person to join our team.

The Salvation Army in Edinburgh provides support for people who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. Our role is to provide a safe place to stay or visit with support. The service delivery model is rooted in the harm reduction approach, based on trauma informed practice, strength based and person-centred approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

As someone committed to providing a high-quality environment for our clients, as Maintenance Person you will be responsible for general day to day repairs, decorating, health and safety checks & dealing with contractors.

As a Maintenance Person you will be able to demonstrate:

• Ability to work as part of a staff team to ensure any health and safety issues are addressed by on site staff

• Awareness of Health and Safety Regulations

• Respecting Confidentiality in line with policy

• Keeping all appropriate paperwork evidencing tasks completed to support the services provided at the Lifehouse, Resettlement Flats and Wellbeing Centre

• Experience and competence in general property maintenance

• Experience in basic DIY works to facilitate the upkeep of the building

• Good time keeping and smart appearance

• Undertake any training as deemed necessary

• A can do and non- judgemental attitude.
