Getting Better Together (GBT) is a community-based health initiative which promotes the education, health, and wellbeing of North Lanarkshire residents. Working with our communities, we ensure our local people have access to, and are involved in, the design and delivery of programmes and services created to help improve their health, wellbeing and to build their life skills.
At the heart of Shotts, GBT's Healthy Living Centre was established twenty years ago. Today, from birth to the elderly, we work with people of all ages and have the support of our local partners and funders to deliver the activities which best meet our community's aims and objectives. The GBT board is made up of local directors, and we have over thirty staff and forty volunteers.
We now have vacancy for full time (35 Hrs) Key Worker – HMP Shotts Visitor Centre & Family Time Project, to work as part of the Getting Better Together Early Years and Youth Team. Employed to support the development and implementation of the Visitor Centre and Family Time work plan. Visitor Centre staff are committed to working with families, community, and voluntary sector partners to maintain meaningful contact between prisoners and their families throughout the period of imprisonment.
