Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, better known as CHAS, cares for children with life-shortening conditions and their families. We operate through our two hospices, our network of staff in the community and hospitals, and our CHAS at Home service in every part of Scotland.
Caring for a very ill child can bring with it unexpected financial responsibilities which can lead to poverty and hardship. These include increased care costs and the possibility of a parent giving up work to become a fulltime carer.
Three children die every week in Scotland from an incurable condition. Our doctors, nurses, chaplains and social workers support as many of those families as we can. We aim to reach every family in Scotland and have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team and develop a new service to help families who may be experiencing money concerns.

Good at working with people, you will already have specialist knowledge and experience in welfare rights or money advice, and strong knowledge of the benefits system. If you are determined to make an impact for children and families, we want to hear from you.
CHAS offers an excellent package which includes access to the NHS or local government pension scheme, and comprehensive work/life balance policies. We anticipate this first role being based in East Central Scotland (we have offices in Kinross or Edinburgh, or you could work from home).
However for exceptional candidates we would be willing to discuss operating this service in another part of Scotland. The post is offered for 1 year initially but may be extended as this service develops.
