Role
Space and The Broomhouse Hub is a community anchor organisation supporting people and their families in South Edinburgh, with some of our services stretching city wide. Our mission is:

Space deliver 17 projects, with over 50 staff and 250 volunteers. We deliver diverse services supporting young people, families, older people and carers amongst others, engaging with local people more than 34,000 times last year.
As part of our developing services we are recruiting an experienced Care Assistant to work in our Beacon Club service in Tron Kirk Gilmerton, supporting older people affected by cognitive impairment and mild dementia.
The Beacon Club is an enriching and stimulating day care service with dedicated staff and volunteers. We believe that people with dementia are entitled to respect and dignity and we are passionate about improving the quality of life for our members and their carers, in our local communities.
The Role
The Beacon Club Care Assistant will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Service Coordinator with the day to day running of the Beacon Club, supporting older people affected by mild dementia and cognitive impairment, ensuring that the interests of members and their carers are at the forefront of all activities
- Promoting quality of life and the wellbeing of Beacon Club members, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met
- Contribute to planning and running of a programme of interesting activities for members
- Engage in conversations with members, taking an interest in their lives and experiences, showing an understanding and respect for the value and dignity of their lives

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Property Maintenance Administrator to support the Corporate Services Manager in maintaining and improving the Trust’s properties across Edinburgh.
This is a hands-on role involving inspections, repairs, coordination with contractors, and leading on Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) matters. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our spaces are safe, welcoming, and fit for purpose for young people, tenants, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine inspections and carry out reactive and planned maintenance.
• Coordinate facility jobs and liaise with external contractors.
• Support void maintenance to prepare rooms for new occupants.
• Lead on HSE compliance and implementation across the Trust.
• Assist with property strategy including buying, selling, or repurposing properties.
• Engage with tenants and young people to ensure understanding of property responsibilities.

• Experience in property maintenance or facilities management.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and building regulations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• A valid driving licence is preferable due to travel requirements.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to lead on this work in our West of Scotland teams and take an active leadership role within the organisation. The role brings additional capacity for group work, community engagement, and peer-led activities, complementing the direct support already provided by the team.

By co-designing groups and activities, and linking women into local services, volunteering, and community resources, you will play a key part in reducing isolation and repeat homelessness.

Anne Hope House Night Shift Worker – Edinburgh

We are looking for a Night Shift Worker who will maintain the therapeutic centre as a safe environment for residents as the only waking night shift worker, while promoting a caring environment through high standards of professional practice.
This post is restricted to female applicants in order to reduce barriers of access for the all-female residents.
Your tasks include establishing and maintaining the general security of the building during night shift hours, in accordance with policies and procedures and accepted customs and practices, and, in the absence of a Project Worker, with ‘on-call’ management support, lead shift. You will also undertake general household duties including the cleaning of public areas during each shift.
Experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people, experience of working within a team and an understanding of mental health issues, addiction problems and chaotic behaviour are needed for the role.
