1st Interview - 21 April (Teams)
2nd Interview - 26 April (face to face)
Role Responsibility
As Health Systems Engagement Lead you will lead a key workstream on improving care with a key focus on closing the ‘implementation gap’ and reducing variation.
Working at a national and local level, you will identify opportunities to influence diabetes health systems through policy, thought leadership as well as working collaboratively to foster innovation and supporting, energising and inspiring people to work differently to improve diabetes care and facilitate change in systems. You will drive a culture of high-performance and continuous learning that is relentlessly focused on impact for people with, and at risk of, diabetes.
You will work closely with the National Director, deputising and acting as a spokesperson as required, and with colleagues within the Scotland team and across the UK. You will ensure that the voice of lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of influencing across boundaries and within complex systems. You will build effective senior level relationships in a compelling way and demonstrate strong personal credibility. You will have a strong understanding of diabetes, local health structures and the health, social care and inequalities policy landscape.
You will be a strategic and creative thinker, but also used to rolling your sleeves up and working in partnership with health systems on the ground to improve care. You see the process of change in systems as messy, unpredictable and emergent (rather than planned and controlled). You thrive on challenge and find practical steps to take in the face of complexity and uncertainty. You are experimental by nature and are very comfortable challenging the status quo. And you have a growth-mindset, fuelled by an abundance of energy, compassion and appreciation for those you work with.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to analyse, synthesise and interpret data and insight and draw sound conclusions. You will be able to convey complex information in a meaningful way to different audiences and use this insight to inform organisational priorities. You will be a strong team player used to working constructively across a UK wide multidisciplinary team.
