This role as Membership Recruiter is critical to the success of our work, and for the future of Scotland’s wildlife and wild places.

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Membership Recruiter to join our team.

No day is the same for our Membership Recruiters – you will travel around varied, exciting and unique venues throughout Scotland, all within a 1 hour radius of your home base, unless otherwise arranged with your line manager. Your days will be spent managing your own membership stall, actively engaging with the public and inspiring them to become members of the Trust.

Our membership recruiters are often the first point of contact for people who are yet to learn about our work. And so, whilst the main part of this role is to recruit new members, our recruitment team also work hard to inspire the public to become as passionate about wildlife as we are. Whilst experience is desirable, we are open to meeting the right fit for our team, and this position comes with direct training, with your fuel and parking costs paid for on top of your salary and commission. You’ll also have your own vehicle provided for business use.

As a member of our recruitment team, you will:

• Actively contribute to our vision of a healthier, wilder, Scotland.
• Attend venues and events as a Membership Recruiter
• Use appropriate communication and sales techniques (with no ‘hard sell’) to encourage members of the public to join the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an engaging communicator – you can comfortably build rapport with members of the public and colleagues.
• Be a self-starting individual who is confident with lone-working.
• Be well-organised with good administrative skills.
• Have some knowledge of conservation and wildlife in Scotland.
• Hold experience in a customer-facing role such as Direct or Field Sales or Customer Service with experience of working to targets.
• Have the flexibility to work weekends.
• Be comfortable with working outdoors and independently.
• Have a full UK driving licence – there is no requirement to have your own vehicle.

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and community-minded Green Spaces Officer to support volunteers across our network of community gardens. This role will help people to take part in outdoor activities that improve wellbeing, increase confidence, and strengthen social connection.

Working closely with Garden Leaders and volunteer teams, the Green Spaces Officer will help ensure our gardens are safe, welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone can participate—particularly individuals facing disadvantage, isolation, or poor mental health.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, supporting people, and helping communities to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support volunteers to participate in garden sessions in inclusive, safe, positive ways
• Provide 1:1 support where needed, helping individuals to build confidence and skills
• Organise small group activities such as nature walks, seasonal tasks, wellbeing sessions, and gentle gardening
• Work with staff and volunteers to ensure gardens remain welcoming, accessible community spaces
• Help volunteers to set goals, reflect on progress, and engage fully in community life
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and volunteer feedback
• Support the development of wellbeing-focused initiatives within garden settings
• Liaise with referring partners (e.g. mental health teams, housing associations, support workers)

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Warm, patient and able to build trusting relationships
• Comfortable supporting people with additional needs or low confidence
• Passionate about the role green spaces play in wellbeing
• Able to work independently across multiple locations
• Organised, reliable and confident managing small groups
• A good communicator who can work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and partners
• Experience in community gardening, mental health support, social care, outdoor learning or community development is welcome—but above all, we value enthusiasm, attitude and commitment.

Family Group Decision Making is working with family groups in a strengths-based way to support them to create Family Plans, keeping children safe and at home within their family networks.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Family Group Decision Making coordinator. We have funding for a 12-month fixed term post to work alongside the Whole Family Wellbeing Team within Scottish Borders Council supporting families at an earlier stage of intervention.
