Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community, and advocacy for all those parenting or supporting children who cannot live with their birth parents. Our vision is for an equal chance of a bright future for every child unable to live with their birth parents
FASD Hub Scotland provide a tiered support service for parents/carers (adoptive and biological parents, foster carers, kinship carers and step-parents) across Scotland who live with children, young people and young adults who have a history of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE), with or without an FASD diagnosis.
What you’ll be doing
Working alongside the FASD Hub team, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead on the development and delivery of training, whilst also working directly with families on a one to one basis. You will have the opportunity to inspire others by supporting the development of our social media content and supervising and managing a fantastic team of people who make a difference every day.

You will
• Lead on the design and delivery of FASD training, workshops, webinars and events.
• Provide direct support to parents and carers, providing information, advice, support and information.
• Working alongside the FASD team line manage and support Parent Partners who work directly with families and FASD Volunteers in their relevant roles
• Design and develop FASD resources and information e.g., factsheets, blogs, videos etc.
• Support the development of our social media content on FASD
Who you are.
As a person passionate about supporting families, the community and professionals in understanding the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder you will,
• Be able to meet the criteria within the candidate pack
• Have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of FASD/PAE
• Experienced in developing and delivering training
• Demonstrable experience in providing support to people
• Have a training qualification or equivalent experience
• Ideally have experience in helpline support
You might have a background in health, social work, education or the charity sector or you might have a different level or type of experience, either way we want to hear from you if you feel you can support us with this exciting new project.
What we offer
This contract is permanent, working 20 hours with some weekend and evening work required on occasion and attracts a salary of £26,312 per annum, pro-rata.
The office is based in Edinburgh, and there is the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements.
