Primary Job Purpose
ENABLE Works are the leading Scottish organisation delivering high quality employability services for people who have learning disabilities.
Your role is to lead one of five ENABLE Works regional areas delivering support services across the organisation.
You will lead on the (1) delivery of performance and quality standards, (2) meeting of compliance and contractual requirements and (3) developing new business opportunities to support people who have additional support needs into work.
Managing the All in Edinburgh contract, you will have significant working knowledge of the city of Edinburgh region and key employability stakeholders and sectors.
Leading a team of Employability Team Leaders, supporting their development as leaders and ensuring your wider team of Employment Coordinators deliver high quality services.
You will engage strategically with both local and national contract managers, ensuring contracts are delivered and relationships maintained.
You will lead on developing new business, in partnership with the Depute Director, creating new opportunities for services, securing, and implementing them.
You will play a key role in how ENABLE Works influences policy and support for people who have learning disabilities in Scotland.
A full UK drivers licence and access to a car for work purposes is essential for this role
Responsibilities
Delivering projects to plan:
- Lead a team of Team Leaders to manage the quality and performance of a wider team, delivering an agreed performance and quality target annually.
- Ensuring all activity, engagements and outcomes are recorded accurately on in-house system(s) for Management Information (MI) purposes, gathering accurate project information in line with project timescales and work plan, allowing for accurate forecasting and contingency planning.
- Motivate and coach the team, driving performance in line with contractual targets, supporting the development of senior staff through effective mentoring.
- Using a solutions-focused and creative approach, support teams to identify risks to effective performance, and identify and coach effective contingencies.
- Manage regional income and expenditure in line with agreed budget
- Supporting all internal audits and managing compliance requirements across the team.
- Oversee and report on overall operations and staffing for the region
- Liaise with funders and partners regarding contract delivery, ensuring contracts are maintained
- Develop and maintain relationships with agreed organisations, negotiating new opportunities
Meeting performance expectations:
- Manage quality and compliance standards effectively across the team - minimising financial risk associated with any non-compliance
- Effective coaching and performance management with the team to ensure team meet and exceed performance expectations
- Accurately forecast delivery and effectively contingency plan with team, working collaboratively with other managers, in order to future-proof performance and income
- Innovating and collaborating across the team to support wider ENABLE Works performance
Contribution to strategy:
- Lead on the development of grant applications and tenders for new services
- Deliver an agreed business development target annually
- Manage effective implementation and integration of new services into ENABLE Works
- Sharing best practice and opportunities with ENABLE Works colleagues
- Positive and flexible response to changes in work plans
- Collaborative approach to team and departmental delivery
- Managing your time efficiently in order to respond to additional duties as required
- Supporting the training and marking of accredited staff training
- Representing ENABLE Works and ENABLE Scotland with an understanding of departmental and organisational strategies
About You
Full clean driving license is essential and access to a car for business purposes
You will have significant working knowledge of Edinburgh and the Lothians key employability stakeholders and sectors
A PDA in Supported Employment is desirable
You should also have:
- A commitment to support people with learning disabilities to get the jobs they want
- Understanding of employability services and methodologies
- Knowledge of the local area and it’s community assets
- Knowledge of skills and employment services for disabled people
- Knowledge of Supported Employment Programmes

Job Purpose

Required Skills/Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
- Experience in a range of employee relations issues, including high-volume complex case management such as attendance, conduct, capability, and grievance. You will be juggling multiple cases at any given time, so you need to thrive while working under pressure.
- The ability to champion best practise, deliver change and continuously improve our processes.
- Up to date knowledge of employment law.

The Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD) is a Human Rights Defender. Our vision is of a Scotland where people with learning disabilities live full, safe, loving and equal lives.
SCLD is seeking a Finance and Resource Manager to join the senior leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in shaping financial strategy, supporting operational delivery, and strengthening governance as we influence the development of policy, practice and legislation for people with learning disabilities.
In this role, you will lead on all aspects of financial management, including the preparation of management accounts, annual budgets, year-end reporting and the maintenance of robust financial controls. You will oversee payroll, ensure compliance with accounting and charity regulations, and manage the audit process. Accuracy, timeliness and strong reporting standards will be central to your work.
Your remit will also include wider operational responsibilities such HR and IT systems administration, procurement and office management. Working closely with two direct reports and colleagues across the organisation, you will help to maintain effective processes and a well-run working environment. You will also provide governance support by overseeing key committee meetings, including scheduling, preparing papers, recording minutes and following up on agreed actions.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with proven experience in financial leadership, ideally gained within a regulated or not-for-profit environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Experience and knowledge of governance and risk management frameworks will be beneficial.

Support Workers & Relief Support Workers

We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.
No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.
We have various vacancies available including part time and relief/casual positions in various locations throughout Edinburgh.
Working hours are based between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday
