Role

You will receive £500 if you are successfully appointed with Hillcrest Futures

£250 on successful completion of your 6 month probation period

£250 on successful completion of 12 months service

*Full time 39 hours per week

*Part time hours negotiable with manager

The Service

Our St John’s Hill service based in the centre of Edinburgh, provides temporary accommodation and support to twenty one single homeless individuals who often experience multiple and complex needs.

The Role

As a Support Worker you will:

  • Report directly to the manager and assistant manager;
  • Be responsible for the overall provision of a quality support; service to enable individuals to work on issues which may have contributed to their homelessness, and to help move them on to longer term sustainable accommodation in local communities;
  • Develop excellent, supportive relationships with individuals to help them agree with areas of their lives that they would like support with, and offer direct support to achieve their desired outcomes;
  • Maintain required paperwork and contribute to the overall delivery of the service.

You Will

  • Be highly motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Have knowledge and experience of working with individuals;
  • Be an excellent team player who is able to inspire and motivate others;
  • Have strong personal and professional values;
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or be willing to undertake study to achieve this.;
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
