inequality and improve quality of life through initiatives in education, employment, disability, health, and
well-being.
To enhance the impact of these initiatives and to provide targeted support to individuals seeking to overcome
barriers to training, education, and employment, we are seeking to hire an Opportunities Advisor. This key role
will work across all Celtic FC Foundation projects to deliver tailored support to participants, helping them
access opportunities that will lead to positive destinations as well as meaningful employment.
Key accountabilities
Many of the individuals engaged with Celtic FC Foundation face significant barriers to progression, including a lack
of qualifications, life skills and guidance. While our projects offer valuable resources, the complexities of
each participant’s circumstances often require bespoke one-to-one support to ensure successful outcomes.
Our Opportunities Advisor will provide that essential support acting as a bridge between participants and external
training providers, educational institutions, and employers. Our advisor will offer individual needs analysis,
action planning and goal setting, career advice and identify appropriate training opportunities. The post holder
will also guide participants through college and job applications, interviews, and the transition into the
workforce or an alternative positive destination bespoke to the stage and needs of the individual. The
Opportunities Advisor will also manage our ‘Next Steps Award’ which will provide a budget to support individuals
on their journey e.g. interview clothes, mobile phone, travel costs, food, essentials and equipment.
Key tasks include:
- Provide Person Centred Support: Offer tailored advice and mentoring to individuals across various projects to
help them access training, education, and job opportunities
- Increase Positive Destination Outcomes:
Ensure that participants receive the support needed to gain meaningful training, education or employment
opportunities
- Enhance Project Impact: Strengthen the overall outcomes of Celtic FC Foundation’s
initiatives by addressing the barriers to education and employment
- Support Long-Term Sustainability:
Equip individuals with the skills, confidence, and networks needed for long-term success
- Ensure all
communications with colleagues is professional, appropriate and considerate of individual needs and
circumstances
- Actively build and maintain positive working relationships with Colleagues across the
Club, ensuring a collaborative approach is adopted at all times
- Treat all colleagues with dignity and
respect by ensuring that your behaviour and approach during the course of all workplace activity is inclusive of
all backgrounds and abilities and welcomes diverse contributions
Expected Outcomes Include:
- Increased positive destinations: At least 70% of participants receiving support will move into positive
destinations, such as, training, education or employment
- Increased personal support: At least 70% of
participants receiving support will gain valuable life skills e.g. confidence, motivation, team building and
communication
- Enhanced Access to Celtic FC Foundation Projects: All participants receiving support will
be eligible to apply for access to other CFCF initiatives e.g. Fuel Bank, Paradise Pit Stop, Holiday
Homes
- Sustained Impact: Participants will have the tools and support to move into positive destinations
and build long-term, sustainable careers
Skills and Experience required;
Essential:
Minimum three year’s work experience in the third sector
Experience of working with vulnerable individuals
Safeguarding experience
Risk Assessment
Experience of providing tailored advice and guidance to vulnerable individuals to help them access educational or
employment opportunities
Managing small budgets
Ability to identify and address barriers to education and employment, helping participants overcome obstacles and
achieve their goals
Person centred approach
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues, stakeholders, and participants.
Being considerate of individual needs is crucial
Understanding and supporting individuals who may face significant barriers to success
The ability to inspire confidence and motivate participants, helping them develop life skills such as confidence,
communication, and teamwork
Ability to adjust to changing needs, particularly in a dynamic, outcomes-focused role
A commitment to working inclusively, understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds and abilities
Desirable:
- Qualification in Education, Community Work or related field
- Certificate in Mentoring, Career Guidance or
equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
