Are you passionate about supporting young people who have experienced disadvantage to realise their potential? Can you work in school as part of a dedicated national team to support young people to get the very best from the education system? If so, this role may be for you.
At MCR, our driving force is simple – that young people who are in, or on the edges of the care system, will have the same educational outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as any other young person.
MCR young people tell their stories far better than us. Hear them in their own words in these short films of young people who have participated in the programme, reflecting on how mentoring has helped them create better futures for themselves:
We have had a transformational impact in schools and local authorities across Scotland and are looking for a Pathways Coordinator to join our regional team in Perth and Kinross. The successful candidate will primarily be based in St John’s Academy, supporting and learning from existing teams. Within this role, you will be an integral part of the school community, liaising with education colleagues and external stakeholders, and delivering the programme to young people.
St John's RC Academy's told us:
"Our school community is one of the most diverse in Perth and Kinross. Our school is proud to be truly comprehensive with pupils from the whole range of socio-economic backgrounds. Our community is home to children, parents and staff from a rich array of ethnic backgrounds, and all are made very welcome within our inclusive Catholic ethos."
Please note, the roles will be subject to a PVG check and two satisfactory references, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer.
