About the Enterprise Directorate
Our Enterprise Directorate is the entrepreneurial arm of Volunteering Matters. Our team provides commercial services centered on volunteering and training to a range of UK leading businesses. We currently have two established services; Employee Volunteering and Get The Gen.
Employee Volunteering (EV)
We work with UK businesses acting as a broker to manage their internal employee volunteering programmes. We create and deliver community led volunteering opportunities for their employees that also align with their Corporate Social Responsibility or business aims.
Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate dynamic Project Manager to join our national team as one of the key managers. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and commitment to our organisational values. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the development of key relationships with a range corportate clients to ensure they receive an excellent level of service from EV. They are responsible for managing and developing strong relationships that help to maintain and grow income from a flexible portfolio of clients. They directly line-manage the delivery team (Engagement Managers) who are responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the services we agree with our clients.
Duties and Responsibilites:
Client Relationship Management & Development
- To act as the client’s primary contact from EV building strong relationships with key client contacts and facilitating engagement with all parts of our business as necessary
- To work in a way that is client led, whilst being flexible and adaptable in terms of how we can manage and deliver required levels of service for our clients that both works for them and for EV as a business
- To lead negotiations with our existing clients as appropriate on all aspects of their continued engagement with our EV service and to proactively seek to grow business and income as part of these negotations.
- To lead renewal discussions with existing clients and prepare proposals for associated work.
- To provide an exemplary customer service experience
Manage the Delivery Team to consistently provide a high-quality service to our clients
- To effectively account manage a flexible portfolio of client delivery
- To be responsible for the effective management of the delivery team to provide a high-quality service for a range volunteering activity as agreed with corporate clients, developing and adapting additional resources to facilitate delivery as required
- To ensure the delivery team manage all risk within our service delivery so that all compliance obligations are met (relating to external legislation and internal policies)
- To contribute to and implement systems and processes to maximise efficiencies of the team
- To lead all agreed monitoring, evaluation and reporting services with clients as part of their activity
Administrative and financial management
- To maintain up to date and high-quality records of client activity on all internal systems
- To develop and maintain project budgets for clients within the portfolio, initiate swift payments to the schedule agreed with clients and that all invoices are paid, and contribute to internal financial reporting as required
- To display leadership in contributing to the team’s continuous improvement strategy for collective internal reporting objectives
Leadership within the team
- To provide effective and supportive line management to the delivery team, allocating activity as required and regularly monitor the quality of their delivery and well-being
- To be a proactive member of the EV Management team and help drive our continuous improvement strategy
- To liaise effectively with the Delivery Leader and other Project Managers on the effective distribution of team resources in the fulfilling of client objectives and internal obligations
- To take a lead on one or more cross-team EV projects, as agreed with your line manager
- Carry out all other duties as reasonably requested by your line- manager.
- Assist the New Business Development manager with prospective client proposals
- Administration tasks including maintaining up to date, effective and accessible records, and the use of Microsoft Office and other software packages

Outreach Worker and Cycle Trainer

About Us
Recyke-a-bike (part of Fallin Community Enterprises) has been in operation since 2005. We began as a small recycling social enterprise that quickly grew into a job club, using bike recycling as work experience for our members. Over the years we’ve seen a lot of growth and now offer training services and cycling outreach work, in addition to our bike recycling and sales through our well stocked and modestly priced shop.
Purpose
To support the delivery of the Bikeability programme in partnership with Cycling Scotland and Stirling and Clackmannanshire local authorities. The Outreach Worker and Cycle Trainer will also support the delivery of all cycling-based activities delivered by Recyke-a-bike.
Responsibilities
Main:
- Delivery of Bikeability Training to Children.
- Delivery of Adult Cycle Training.
- Maintenance of bikes and equipment for each of the following fleets: Stirling, Clackmannanshire, EBike, Practical Cycle Awareness Training (PCAT) and Adult Cycle Training Fleets.
- Managing health and safety within area of responsibility.
- Carrying out risk assessments for Bikeability sessions.
- Planning, risk assessing and delivering other cycle related sessions, events and activities.
- External liason with third parties including schools, local councils, community groups and organisations, as well as charities and businesses.
- Attending team meetings.
- Attending continuous professional development (CPD) training.
Additional:
- Building bikes for the shop when not busy.
- Collecting bike donations for the shop.
- Deliver Doctor Bike services across the Forth Valley when required.

The Role of a Trustee
Our Trustees play a vital role in three key areas: Strategy, Governance and Risk Management.
You’ll work with the leadership team as a critical friend — supporting, questioning, and inspiring us to stay true to our mission while continuing to innovate and grow.
Each trustee also “adopts” one of our services or projects, acting as a link between the Board and front line staff. This helps Trustees stay connected to the people and communities we serve, and brings valuable insight back to board discussions.
Trustees with specific professional experience engage in one of our four subgroups – Finance, Governance, People, Enterprise.
Right now we’re particularly keen to add to the existing financial skills of our Board, ideally welcoming someone with Management Accounting expertise, especially within SMEs or social enterprises. Someone with experience of being a charity treasurer would be highly beneficial.
That said, we’d love to hear from anyone who shares our values and brings experience in areas like fundraising, communications, enterprise, wellbeing, or facilities management.
Do I have to live in Edinburgh?
Not at all! We welcome applications from potential Trustees living anywhere. However, there is a requirement to attend an in-person Board meeting in Edinburgh once every two months. Attendance online can be arranged under special circumstances.
Our Trustees fall into two categories:
- Local Trustees: People living in South West Edinburgh, or within three miles of EH11 3RH.
- Business Trustees: People who do not live locally who join the Board to offer specific skills, expertise or professional experience.
Your Commitment
We truly value your time and experience, and we keep the commitment meaningful but manageable:
- Board meeting every two months in Edinburgh (2hrs in person)
- Sub-group meeting every three months (60-90 mins online)
- Annual General Meeting in Edinburgh (90mins in person)
- One Trustee Strategy Building Day per year (5-6hrs in person
Trustee Induction & Training
We provide a comprehensive induction and ongoing training programme to support all trustees in their role. This includes sessions on our governance structure, key policies, finance & budgeting, health & safety, safeguarding, and an overview of our current projects and strategic priorities.
Trustees also take part in regular development sessions throughout the year.
All new trustees have the option to be buddied up with an existing trustee while they find their feet.
Remuneration/Expenses
This is an unpaid role, however reasonable expenses associated with the role may be reimbursed.

Context
Rock Trust delivers the Upstream prevention project in schools and the post holder will work with the Upstream Team, pilot schools and education departments to create a toolkit for the implementation of Upstream. This will involve working with current pilot schools to document the changes required in school systems, the challenges and how to overcome them and an assessment of the resources required to deliver Upstream. The Ask & Act Education Manager will use this learning to create a toolkit and implementation plan to be used for national implementation.
This role is responsible for:
- Coordinating work with multiple local authority Education departments, senior leaders and cross-sector partners (Housing, Social Work, Health, third sector)
- Designing and documenting processes, guidance and training materials that enable schools to embed early identification of housing risk
- Capturing learning, gathering data and producing a national implementation framework
- Ensuring all activity aligns with statutory duties, local contexts and Rock Trust’s prevention approach
The Ask & Act Education Manager will need to be methodical, have strong report writing skills and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate the information gathering and documenting. They will be responsible for delivering the toolkit to a high standard, making a lasting contribution to Scotland’s homelessness prevention system.
