This is an exciting opportunity be part of the Children 1st Edinburgh Family Wellbeing Service. We work alongside children, young people and their families, building strong and trusting relationships to ensure they are safe, secure and achieving at home, in school and included in the community.
Working alongside families in their homes and in community settings to support and deliver one to one, group and whole family support to children, young people and families.
As a positive link between educational establishments and children and families in the community, children’s engagement, attainment and wellbeing will be at the heart of everything you do. You will provide practical, social and emotional support to families to meet a wide range of need including social, emotional and behavioural issues, nursery/school attendance, additional support needs, parental mental health and wellbeing, poor family relationships, poverty and housing issues or social isolation.
We are looking for someone who recognises the importance of child development with experience of delivering attachment and nurture-based approaches. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to use restorative and trauma-informed practice to get alongside children, young people and families. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with multi-agency partners within GIRFEC Planning processes.
If you have experience of working with children and their families and have an SVQ Level 3/ HNC or equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or related area, accredited counselling qualification, or other relevant qualification at SCQF level 7 then we want to hear from you.
This is fixed term, full time post of 35 hours per week, funded until 30 June 2023.
Hours to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the service, families, and the school (mornings, evenings and occasional weekends will be required)
