Role
Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) is an independent charitable trust that looks after Fife’s finest natural heritage. We are seeking an Education Manager to join our dynamic and effective team. Working to the Head of Communities and Engagement, this role offers an opportunity for an able educator with a strong belief in the value of outdoor learning to really make a difference. You will be able to shape and influence outdoor learning policy and deliver meaningful and rewarding experiences to people of all ages. To achieve this, the Education Manager will identify key stakeholders including schools, colleges and universities and other educational establishments. They will drive strategic engagement across these organisations, building relationships and strengthening collaborative working practises. They will deliver an engaging and informative educational programme of events that teaches the value of responsible access and the benefits of time spent in the natural environment.
Essential Characteristics
- Firm understanding of, and commitment to, the Curriculum for Excellence through Outdoor Learning.
- Educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Collaborative and engaging with the ability enthuse and inspire project teams and stakeholders.
- Significant experience of teaching in the outdoor learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience. Taking ownership of all stages from development through to evaluation with an eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clearly and confidently to a range of audiences.
This post is a full-time (36 hours per week) permanent post with an annual salary from £ 26768 to £ 33939. Work will be delivered over a five-day week but may include some evening and weekend work as required. Additional benefits include:

The Green Team was founded in 1995 to support young people to succeed in achieving the Duke of Edinburgh award. Since then, the team has grown significantly and now offers nine programmes along with corporate volunteering days and holiday activities. From one member of staff and a few volunteers, we now have 10 staff and over 50 volunteers.
The growth of the team since 1995 has been primarily driven by our current CEO, Penny Radway. The size of the organisation and number of programmes run mean that we believe the time is right to introduce a dual CEO approach. Penny will focus on CEO responsibilities for delivering our programmes and we are looking to recruit someone passionate about the outdoors and helping young people to become our CEO for corporate responsibility. We believe this represents an exceptional opportunity to help shape the Green Team strategy for the next decade, continue to grow the team and further enhance its reputation.
The role
To co-lead the charity promoting the mission, aims, values and objectives, be directly responsible for specific agreed areas of the charity’s corporate operations while overseeing and ensuring the success of these operations. To increase income generation, specifically unrestricted funds, enhance existing financial controls, and impact reporting. To also ensure there are clear and impactful communications, partnerships and marketing approaches for the development of the Green Team.
Work in partnership with the Co-CEO Programmes to advise the Trustees on the strategic direction of the organisation and to implement Board decisions. To ensure the sustainability of the Green Team, with a focus on increasing unrestricted funds to achieve longevity of the organisation.

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust team are seeking a Human Resources Administrator who will provide an efficient and proactive service to our management team and to people across this charitable organisation. Our HR Administrator will support the Senior Management Team to deliver their strategic objectives, ensure compliance with all employment law matters and champion FCCT’s values. You will be the first point of contact for potential and current employees, and you will ensure our HR department is well-organised and effective at attracting, hiring and retaining staff.
You will be based at the unique setting of Harbourmaster’s House, Dysart, on the Fife Coastal Path, and there may be travel to other FCCT bases.
About you:
You will have experience of working within Human Resources and be driven to provide excellent service.
You will bring the following skills and experience:
• Educated to SCQF Level 8 which includes HND or SVQ Level 4 or equivalent
• Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages and experience with a range of CRMs
• Ability to produce high quality, accurate work to deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to recognise when a matter needs escalated to senior team members, or requires external HR support
It’s desirable that you have knowledge of HR legislation, a CIPD qualification and experience of data gathering and analysis.

Our newly named Green Skills Centre offers group training and development work to young people and other groups at risk of experiencing homelessness. We aim to be a restorative and supportive influence. We offer workshops, accredited training and client-led learning pathways. Our learning work includes sustainable horticulture, market gardening, woodland skills, peer-mentoring and outdoor-education.

This role will lead on the management and development of the Centre, with responsibility for all delivery and the site itself, as well as responsibility for ensuring it is managed in line with the organisations vision and strategic aims.

You will be an experienced manager with knowledge of sustainable food production.
You will have experience of project and financial management, be well organised with the ability to manage your own workload and working within policies.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build robust relationships, treating others with respect and compassion, in line with our values.
This is a varied role that will require you to support the team and volunteers, problem solve, co-ordinate the site and to be positive, creative and flexible in providing support.

You’ll be working independently leading a team with a supportive manager. We will encourage you to use your creativity to manage the Green Skills Centre, innovate new activities and support you to introduce them.
