Role

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Facilities Support Officer with a background in Facilities and Maintenance Management to expand their experience working within the unique environment of CHAS, safeguarding the security and wellbeing of patients, staff, visitors, and all contractors, consultants, and external bodies on our premises.

For over twenty years CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) have been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through our hospices, homecare services and hospital presence.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Estates Manager you would be expected to oversee activities to ensure work is carried out in accordance to business guidelines. You will also be responsible for being the first line of repair and maintenance to minor faults to certify that the buildings and their contents remain fit for purpose. Part of this role will see you assisting in the preparation of budgets and procurements for necessary works.

About You

The ideal candidate will be experienced in Facilities Management with a minimum HND (or equivalent) in a relevant services related discipline. You will have a practical working knowledge of property and facilities management process, operational theory, and best practice, and understand estates and property legislation. You will also understand the importance of a robust PPM schedule to adhere to. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to consult and negotiate confidently and professionally.

As a Property and Facilities Officer, you will be instrumental in achieving this vision.
