Role

The Prince’s Foundation

The Prince’s Foundation provides holistic solutions to challenges facing the world today. We champion a sustainable approach to how we live our lives and build our communities, we run a diverse programme of education and training for all ages and backgrounds, and we regenerate and care for places where communities thrive and that visitors enjoy.

We work nationally and internationally but at the heart of our organisation is the heritage-led regeneration of the Dumfries House estate and its wider community, where our principles and philosophies are explored and put into practice.

The work of The Prince’s Foundation is inspired by The Prince of Wales’s philosophy of harmony: that by understanding the balance, the order and the relationships between ourselves and the natural world we can create a more sustainable future.

Programmes take place within and beyond the charity’s sites, including at Dumfries House, with its Education Farm, STEM centre and Health and Wellbeing Centre, and in Shoreditch, East London and Trinity Buoy Wharf in Tower Hamlets, London.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Education Director while working closely with the relevant Education Managers you will be responsible for coordinating several key areas within the learning journey of our students (14yrs+) with a particular focus on Building Craft, Hospitality and Textiles curriculum areas. With many of our education programmes offering opportunities to obtain qualifications through practice-based learning you will play an active role in recruiting, registering and monitoring students as well as coordinating tutor led workshops and industry placements relevant to each programmes objective.

Examples of current qualifications currently offered in these curriculum areas include:

Traditional Craft Programmes – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Heritage Skills

Hospitality Programmes – City and Guilds Level 1

Textile Programmes – City and Guilds Level 1

Dumfries House (part of The Prince’s Foundation) became an approved City and Guilds centre in 2021 offering certification in areas such as multi-disciplinary craft, hospitality and textiles. It is the aspiration of The Prince’s Foundation to broaden the scope of our education/qualification offer and the Vocational Qualification Coordinator take a lead role in the wider Prince’s Foundation team to help bring these opportunities into fruition.
