We seek a confident and experienced individual with excellent communication and analytical skills, a commitment to creating social change and a desire to help others succeed.
Your role will involve managing Firstport’s relationships with applicants and awardees in connection with a new programme designed to kick-start and accelerate social enterprise activity across Sunderland and South Tyneside.
With a primary focus on application assessment, award management and follow-up, you will build relationships with successful applicants and support them in developing their proposals into sustainable social enterprises.
The role requires excellent judgment skills. You will filter and assess applications in line with the fund’s criteria. You will provide recommendations to panels, so we can ensure we are making the best decisions on the awards we make. You will have excellent communication skills, which you will use to maintain direct contact with applicants, providing advice and feedback as required. You will also regularly liaise with relevant stakeholders and strategic partners.
You should demonstrate a solid understanding of a range of business models and the obstacles faced by new enterprises. You will also contribute with creative ideas to increase the reach and availability of the fund to people from all areas and backgrounds. Ideally, you will have prior experience in grant management, working with start-ups and/or social enterprises, and a track record of building relationships across sectors.
The role is fast-paced, and you will work with a caseload of projects at different levels of development. The ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines is essential.
