Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. The BAME Engagement and Equalities Officer will be responsible for supporting organisations across North Lanarkshire to enable and improve their engagement with the most marginalised and vulnerable members of Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Communities.

The Health and Wellness Hub are a registered charity established in 2012 to provide a community-based health and wellness service in areas of North Lanarkshire that are in the top 10-15% data zones for multiple deprivation (SIMD 2020) The Charity has a particular focus on helping people who are marginalised and disadvantaged by reason of age, ill-health, disability and financial hardship. Alongside individuals accessing community based services, they can also participate in the “Transforming Lives” volunteer programme, aimed at individuals who have a number of support needs and are marginalised and disadvantaged in some way. The organisation is a supported business and 70% of the current staff team were participants on the volunteer programme.

The post of BAME Engagement and Equalities Coordinator is a new role in our charity and we hope the post holder will bring a range of knowledge, skills and experiences that will further enhance the existing services we deliver while supporting a small staff team in the delivery of work within our communities.
