Wheatley Group has a fantastic opportunity for experienced and caring professionals to join the organisation as a Retirement Housing Manager. We have roles available at Wheatley Homes East.

As a Retirement Housing Manager, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the Retirement Property development and to pass on any concerns about safety and wellbeing of tenants to Housing Officer. And at the heart of this – becoming a familiar face in our communities, providing a comprehensive, high-quality housing management service to customers.

You will be:

  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to respond to a crisis situation in a calm and practical manner
  • An enthusiastic and caring professional who can work, adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and constantly innovating and improving organisation;
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service; and
  • Able to work collaboratively with customers and partner agencies to support the continued development of our communities.

You should have:

  • At least two years’ experience in managing a sheltered or similar scheme;
  • Qualification in Housing at SVQ2 level or equivalent, or willing to work towards qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of older people’s services
  • Be able to clearly demonstrate awareness and commitment to ethos of sheltered housing
  • Elementary food hygiene certificate
  • Previous experience of managing staff
  • Basic IT skills
  • Demonstrative experience of managing a challenging workload.

The role will involve working at Stenhouse Mill Wynd Complex from Monday to Friday, 9am – 1pm
