Role

Would you like to join an exciting and unique service for Armed Forces veterans with a vision impairment?

Our Hawkhead Centre is an activity hub to support the independence of armed forces veterans with sight loss. We are looking for an activity worker to join our team of skilled and enthusiastic staff.

In the activity worker role, you will work with our members to develop ways to support their independence and wellbeing. This will be through the development and facilitation of a varied and engaging activities programme. You will work with members both individually and in group settings, enabling them to gain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their time in the Centre whilst also being adaptable and responsive to their current and future needs within the Centre.

Applicants must have a commitment to working with people with sight loss to maximise their choice and control over their lives. If you do not already have an SVQ2 in health and social care, we will expect you to be willing to work towards this qualification.

Sight Scotland Veterans is the new name for Scottish War Blinded.
